Of these residents: Ashkenazi Jews make up 44% of all inhabitants, Latinos make up 31% of all inhabitants, Asians make up 5% of all inhabitants, and Native Americans/Alaskan Natives make up 2%. In 1990-2010 alone there were 172 births within the Community; this number has increased steadily over time as more families move to Agoura Hills due to its excellent schools and affordable real estate prices relative to other cities in LOS Angeles County. The estimated median household income for individuals within town limits was $85,100 between 1990-2010 according to figures from Miriam Weitzman & Associates Incorporated - an independent research firm that studies socioeconomics within municipalities across Los Angeles County On average per capita spending by residents within town limits ranged from $521-$1,561 with most expenditures being spent on goods and services such as food shopping local restaurants etcetera

It is part of the San Fernando Valley region and straddles the border of Ventura and Los Angeles counties. The Agoura Hills area was first settled by Mexicans in 1849. The name Agoura refers to a hill in Rancho Santa Anita where Spanish Missionaries had established their presence in 1821-22. In 1868, two brothers named George and David Adler purchased 6 square miles (15 km2) of land east of Pasadena from José Tejada for $10 per acre ($274,000 today). They laid out a small town on their holdings with an artificial lake, called Agoura Park. On November 14, 1925, Mayor John Husted announced that Agoura Hills would be annexed into Los Angeles; it was his final act as mayor before he retired at the age of 70 years old on December 1. On January 3, 1926 City Council voted 3-2 to annex Agoura Hills into the new city after much discussion among councilmembers about what type of government structure should be put in place while the annexation process was being finalized. In its early years as a municipality, Agoura Hills had only two businesses: a grocery store and one restaurant. In 1951 when it became an incorporated city with a mayor and five council members (the current form), agroforestry began becoming more popular due to its potential benefits such as preserving open space for public use while also providing economic opportunities for farmers within close proximity to urban areas. By 1973 there were over ninety agricultural businesses within three miles (5 km) radius of downtown Agoura Hills; this growth helped support significant financial investments throughout subsequent decades in infrastructure improvements such as water systems and parks which have become integral parts of today's communityscape
