Latinos made up 3% of the population in 2010; this number increased to 6% by 2012 when Census data showed that Asians had grown more rapidly than whites in Siloam Springs over that time period (-5%). Black male employment rates ranged from 50% to 80%, while female employment rates ranged from 30% to 60%. In 1924, the silo coal mine closed due to low demand for its fuel, leading to a decline in population until it leveled off at about 350 people in 1970.
