Siloam Springs is a small town in Pulaski County, Arkansas, United States. The population was 1,711 at the 2000 census. It is part of the Little Rock–North Little Rock–Conway Micropolitan Statistical Area. As of the 2010 census, Siloam Springs had a population of 2,953. The first gun in Siloam Springs was an old black powder rifle that was sold to Mims by Jesse James on October 3rd, 1835. It stopped functioning after Jesse shot it twice with a six-gun he had been using as his hunting rifle. The most famous gun in town was probably John Brown's Gun which he bought from General Nathan Bedford Forrest at the Battle of Arkansas Post on November 14th, 1859. People in town named their guns after important people or places in their lives such as Drury Lane (John Brown's house), The White House (Ulysses S. Grant's home), and Danville (Daniel Boone's home). In 1899 there were only three handguns registered in town: two Colts and one Winchester rife-gun combination pistol patented by George Wickersham under license #210466 dated December 8th 1899 and used by Sheriff Jno Hendershon during the department’s internal investigation into graft within his office on July 6th 1899; however this weapon has never been located or inventoried and no record exists to support its authenticity

Siloam Springs is a small town in Pulaski County, Arkansas, United States. The population was 1,730 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Ouachita Parish Metropolitan Statistical Area. The community was named for Siloam Spring, located about east of town on the Arkansas River. The spring supplied water to many farmers and people in the area until it ran dry in the 1930s. The first post office was established in 1911, and the first store opened in 1912. In 1924, a sawmill and grist mill were built around Siloam Spring; these remained in operation until 1957. A school was built near Siloam Spring in 1916; it remains open today as Siloam Springs Elementary School. In 1938, a group of local businessmen formed the "Arkansas Valley Chamber of Commerce." This organization promoted economic development within its region by sponsoring business meetings and providing marketing opportunities to businesses in its area. In 1948, an addition to Siloam Springs schools were constructed; this building still serves as school property today. A series of floods struck the area during 1951-1954; each event caused extensive damage to homes and businesses along the Arkansas River valley floor south of town. After much effort by local officials and volunteers (the "Siloam Springs Restoration Committee"), all affected areas were repaired or rebuilt within three months following each event. In 1999-2000, a $7 million project designed to improve water quality within four miles of town was completed; results have been very positive since implementation. A new elementary school was also built that same year across from old high school property - this facility now houses most local government offices as well as several restaurants/cafés/stores/.
