Sherwood, Arkansas is a small town located in the Ozark Mountains of central Arkansas. The community was founded in 1893 by Reuben H. Smith, an early settler and entrepreneur. From its inception, Sherwood has been an important center for arms and ammunition production. In the 1920s, the Smith family developed a munitions manufacturing business that continues to operate today. The first weapon flashlight was made in Sherwood by George Burgess in 1925. This hand held device used a single high pressure light bulb to emit a faint glow from a metal housing that had been mounted on the end of a stick or rod. These early flashlights were primitive and not very effective at illuminating areas large enough to require illumination from more than one light source. In 1933, manufacturers began to produce Weapon Flashlights using two high power light bulbs placed on opposite ends of a metal tube which was inserted into an accessory armament such as a rifle or shotgun barrel. These later models became known as "Taser" styleflashlights because they could be used as weapons against human targets by shocking them with brief bursts of light rather than drawing blood like other hand held firearms did at that time

Sherwood is located in Pulaski County, Arkansas. The population was 1,549 at the 2010 census. The community was named after John C. Sherwood, a Representative from Arkansas who served from 1904-1907 and 1912-1915. Sherwood is located on the banks of the White River about one mile east of its confluence with the Arkansas River. The first settler in what is now Sherwood was James Denny and his family in 1872. A post office called "Sherwood" was established in 1875, and remained in operation until 1907. In 1902, Wm Hargrave bought land near present day Sherwood and built a flour mill thereon which became known as Hargrave's Mill & Grains Company. In 1927, Jno Pate opened a grocery store and two years later added a restaurant which became known as the Lion's Den. As population growth began to accelerate within Pulaski County during the late 1920s and early 1930s, demand for goods available only through mail order grew increasingly prevalent among residents of various rural communities throughoutArkansas (the so-called " Rural Electrification Plan"). To meet this growing need for services such as transportation to local merchants and manufacturers, Pate&Hargrave developed sherwood avenue which ran parallel to their property between 1924-1928. This street would become an important commercial thoroughfare not only because it provided easy access by motorists to local businesses but also because it afforded residents of neighbouring towns an opportunity to purchase items they could not find or afford locally. By 1938, when sherWOOD avenue reached its current width (it had previously been much narrower), over 150 stores had opened along its length! In 1951, following passage of the Federal Land Policy Act (FOPA),SherWOOD avenue became part of the National Highway System under US Departmentof Transportation jurisdiction due to its strategic location adjacent to both state Routes 3 southward into Little Rockand Route 66 northward into Kansas City; these routes were then collectively designated Interstate 65. From Highway 65 onward sherWOOD avenue has continued uninterrupted as one continuous route connecting many small towns within Pulaski County with larger centres elsewhere on the continent via Interstate highways

Sherwood is a town in Pulaski County, Arkansas, United States. The population was 1,898 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Little Rock–North Little Rock–Conway Micropolitan Statistical Area. The first settlers in what is now Sherwood were white men from Kentucky who called themselves the "Finch Boys." They came to Arkansas in 1871 and started a post office there. The name "Sherwood" was given to them by General Nathan Bedford Forrest, who took it from a Cherokee Indian chief's name. In 1886, Tom Ewing built a sawmill here and named it after his father-in-law, James H. Sherwood. In 1907, the town had a population of 350 people and held its first election that year as an unincorporated community under the jurisdiction of Pulaski County. On May 7 of that year, Sherwood incorporated as a town with its own government and elected its first mayor, Hiram Witherspoon. As one of Pulaski County's smallest towns (with only .09 square miles), Sherwood struggled to keep up with larger counterparts like North Little Rock or Conway but managed to find success through its unique history and culture which has made it one of the most popular tourist destinations in central Arkansas. One of Sherwood's key attractions is their Annual pancake breakfast which attracts thousands of visitors each year on Memorial Day Weekend; this event has been enjoy by residents since 1922 when local schoolteachers cooked pancakes for their students during class time until they could afford to buy enough food for everyone! One aspect that makesSherwood so lively is its small-town atmosphere where everyone knows everyone else and social events are common occurrences throughout the week including Harvest Festivals (a weekly street fair), Fourth Of July fireworks displays over Lake Conway,, Pancake Breakfast & More!

The population of Sherwood increased rapidly during the early years of its existence, and by 1890 it had reached 100 residents.
