Sherwood is an unincorporated community in Webster County, Arkansas, United States. It lies east of the Little Rock–North Little Rock metropolitan area and north of the town of Springdale. The population was 1,839 at the 2010 census. The community was named for General Sherwood, who fought in the Mexican-American War and later served as a U.S. congressman from Arkansas. A post office operated at Sherwood from 1868 to 1870; it was renamed Springdale in 1870. A small school and store were built in Sherwood around 1916; they were destroyed by a fire in 1922. A small Lutheran church was built in Sherwood also around 1916; it burned down in 2002. A large Baptist church was built near Springdale in 2000; it too burned down on October 15, 2018.

Sherwood, Arkansas is a small town located in Little Rock County, Arkansas. The population was 3,898 at the 2010 census. The Sherwood community was founded in 1907 by the merger of two communities: Haughton and Pleasant Valley. The name of the first post office in Sherwood was First United Methodist Church. The community had a population of just 16 people when it incorporated as a municipality on November 5, 1907. The original businesses in Sherwood were a grocery store, drugstore, and bakery. By 1912 the town had an electric light company and four telephone companies. In 1920-1921 there was also a hardware store and one restaurant in Sherwood. In 1924-1925 there were two churches; First Methodist (founded 1907) and Baptist (founded 1901). By 1930-1931 there were six stores and thirty-six residents in Sherwood. In 1935-1936 local resident Herbert Kline opened the first grocery store within driving distance of any Arkansan with more than three shelves of groceries inside! In 1938-1939 local resident Harry Lafferty started manufacturing shoes at his home using natural dyes from plants near him while he grew corn on his farmstead! Sherwood's Post Office operated from October 26, 1911 until March 17, 1957; its last call being on that date by Mrs. Ida Pugh from Box 364A/2 - she had been serving as Deputy Sheriff for Little Rock County during that time period. When most Little Rock post offices closed after 1955 due to lack of business or automation through electronic mail however, Mrs. Pugh's remains remain as the only individual who served as Deputy Sheriff for both Little Rock County (October26th 1911 - March 17th 1957) & Sheridan County (April 9th 1932 - January 3rd 1960).
