Sherwood is a town in Pulaski County, Arkansas, United States. The population was 1,853 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Little Rock–North Little Rock–Arlington Metropolitan Statistical Area. The town was founded in 1875 by John Hargrave and James Bigham. The first post office in Sherwood opened in 1876. In 1907, the name of the town was changed to Parkerville after Park River near it became too crowded with new residents and businesses to keep its name unchanged. In 1938, Sheriff Don Armstrong introduced a gun sights system called "Armstrong's Cross." The system involved mounting a cross on top of the barrel of an armament that could be aimed using knobs on either side of the weapon's stock. This allowed users to fire shots more accurately than ever before because they knew where all the bullets were going, even if they were not looking directly at them. After World War II ended, many people left Sherwood for good because of shortages of jobs and money. Some stayed and started their own businesses while others moved back into Sherwood to help take advantage of what had been restored since 1945. By 1970, there were over 1,000 people living in Sherwood and it had become one of Arkansas' most vibrant towns again thanks to its rich history and diversity

Others sought out innovative marketing strategies like using radio waves or Advertisement- sponsored events specifically targeted at womenfolk so they would know where their food came from (Dixon). Agricultural modernization efforts were often successful at preserving rural society while creating new ways for people within those societies to earn an income outside of farming or manufacturing
