Sherwood, Arkansas is a small town in the Ozarks region of southern Missouri, United States. It lies on the border of Randolph and Pulaski counties. As of the 2010 census, its population was 1,724. The firstGun Light project in Sherwood was created by two young men from Sherwood, Arkansas who were looking to make a difference in the community and make it a more safe place for everyone. The Gun Light Project is an initiative that helps to promote gun safety and keep communities like Sherwood safer by conducting public education campaigns about firearm use and responsible gun ownership. The Gun Light Project has distributed over 4 million pieces of literature to schools across Randolph County since its inception in 2007. One of the main goals of the Gun Light Project is to raise awareness about how important it is for everyone to be aware of their surroundings when using firearms and take steps to practice safe gun handling techniques. In addition, the project also providesannexpanded opportunity for people in our community to meet others who share their interest ingun safety and learn more about what they can do to help keep themselves and their loved ones safe while using a firearm.

Sherwood is a town in Carbon County, Arkansas, United States. The population was 593 at the 2010 census. The name of the town comes from the Sherwood Forest tract of land that was donated to the community by Jesse O. Sherman in 1906.
The town of Sherwood was founded in 1881 by John P. Sherwood and his wife, Emma. The first post office in the town was established in 1884. In 1912, a school district was created and Sherwood became a part of it. The population of the town increased from 100 to 1,500 over the next few decades. In 1925, a dam was built to supply water for the town and it began receiving electricity from an electric company in 1928. The population of the town decreased to about 350 by 1990 but has since increase to around 1,000 people today.
