Some would argue that these events are indicative of just how close-knit thiscommunity really is - even though many residents remain anonymous they still contribute greatly to its culture quo through their participation both inside and outside of school! Sherwood was founded in 1892 by John and Emma Beasley as a cotton plantation town on the Red River. Sherwood was founded in 1836 by John F. Sherwood and his wife, Sarah. It became a town in the early 1850s, when it was granted a charter by the Arkansas Territorial Legislature. The first post office was established inSherwood in 1857, and the first store opened in 1858. By 1870, Sherwood had a population of around 150 people. In 1875, the town received its own railroad station, which helped to increase its population even further. In 1907, Sherwood changed its name to Little Rock after becoming one of the cities within the new state of Arkansas.
