Searcy, Arkansas is a small town in the central part of the U.S. state of Arkansas. The population was 5,362 at the 2010 census, down from 6,739 at the 2000 census. It is one of two cities in Pulaski County and it is also home to Little Rock Air Force Base. The first rifle stocks were built in Searcy by farmers who needed a way to protect their crops from predators and animals. For many years rifles were used only for hunting deer or other game species outside of Searcy limits; however, as firearms became more popular and accurate they began to be used for self-defense inside the city limits as well. In 1881 John Witherspoon made his first stock company in Searcy which manufactured rifles using a four-chamber design that he developed himself. In 1907 George Stephenson founded what would become Stephenson Manufacturing Company which produced shotguns and rifle stocks under license from John Witherspoon. From 1911 until 1978 all firearm production took place within Little Rock Air Force Base which limited access to rifle stocks for civilians outside of the base; however, this changed when acquisition of over 20 World War II era surplus rifle stocks by the Air Force allowed for resumed civilian production within ARKANSAS GUN WORKS LLC., now known as Little Rock Gun Works Incorporated (LRGW). This allows civilians to purchase rifles directly from LRGW without having to go through wholesalers ordealerships located elsewhere in ARKANSAS! Searcy, Arkansas is located in the Ozarks and has been inhabited by humans for over 10,000 years. The first Europeans to come to Searcy were French colonists who arrived in 1670. They built a fort on the current site of Searcy High School in 1796. The town was named for General John C. Frémont, who explored the area during the Mexican-American War. In 1873, Searcy became a county seat and was renamed Searcy after Major General Nelson A. Miles. In 1902, it was merged with neighboring Jonesboro to form what is now Arkadelphia County.

The town also features many tourist attractions including its historic courthouse, operated by the State Historical Society; two museums - one devoted to local history and another containing exhibits from around the world; six restaurants including three sit-down restaurants; four golf courses - all within five miles of each other; a botanical garden; and several amusement park rides including Six Flags Over Texas (a theme park) and White Water Rapids (an amusement park). Searcy is home to about 9,000 people who make up over 90% of its population. The largest ethnic group are African Americans which makes up almost half of the population but there are also sizable numbers of Hispanics/Latinos, Europeans (both British/Dutch descent as well as Germans), Asians, Poles and others living in addition to black residents who have long constituted much of Searcy's economic base. There are no Arab or Muslim residents in this rural community when compared to larger cities such as Memphis or Little Rock where large concentrations exist among Arabs/Muslims as well as followers of other religions or none at all.

Searcy, Arkansas is a city in Pulaski County, Arkansas, United States. The population was 5,636 at the 2010 census. The name is derived from Searcy Creek. The creek flows through the city and forms part of its southern border. It was named for General John Searcy who fought in the Mexican-American War and later served as U.S. Secretary of War under President James K. Polk. The first permanent settler in Searcy was a group of Shawnee Indians led by Chief Thunder Cloud in 1817 who built their home on a bluff overlooking Searcy Creek. In 1824, Arent Hapgood surveyed the area around what is now Searcy and submitted a plan to the government which designated it as land to be used for agriculture or slave labor until such time as slavery could be abolished within the United States or until such time that new territory could be acquired west of Missouri River. In 1827, Cyrus Warner purchased 640 acres (250 hectares) along with land east of present day Searcy from David Dudley Phineas Greenough and erected a log cabin near what is now known as Warner's Landing on what became known as Pryor Boulevard (later renamed Main Street). This early pioneer settlement represented one of the earliest attempts by white settlers to establish themselves in what is today Arkansas because they had no regard for African Americans who were then living there illegally: they just called it "Arkansas". Warner's Landing became known as historic Pryor because it served as both a stopover point on stagecoaches travelling between Fort Smith (now Little Rock) and Dallas/Fort Worth and also acted as an "intersection" for southbound travelers coming downriver from Texas seeking access to northern Arkansas lands east of the Mississippi River during this period referred to collectively as "the Prairie West". In 1830, Jeremiah Butterfield established himself at nearby Union Springs after acquiring 1,000 acres (500 hectares)2 south of present day Pryor Boulevard along what are now State Road 72 and Highway 9 South1 2 miles north-northwest of downtown Little Rock; Butterfield soon began trading goods carried downriver by steamboats over his personal water wagon ferrying passengers across “The Ark” – his newly constructed millrace – which he stocked with flour, hay, bacon curing pork products etc., directly into town where merchants located on Main Street processed these goods into finished items such as clothing and other consumables needed by farmers throughout much of Missouri Valley region extending eastward into Illinois beyond St Louis County including many settlements in present day northwest Arkansas including Springdale (originally spelled Springboro), Fayetteville (Fayetteville), Rogers City (Rogers City), Hot Springs AR & several others before reaching Little Rock proper via state road 9 south about midway between town limits & US Bend professional airport / military airfields providing commercial air service to larger markets all along river corridor making Arkansaw one large commercial center outside any major city or town inside Oklahoma Territory during this period referred to collectively variously as “Pryor–Little Rock Country” or simply “The Plains” following purchase by general store owner Jeremiah Butterfield Jr..3 Jeremiah Butterfield Jr.'s first store at Pryor Boulevard & Main Street in 1830 formed one cornerstone cornerstone upon which many subsequent stores were built during that era across much of eastern OKLAHOMA TERRITORY prior to statehood becoming effective on July 16th 1907 when Kansas Territorial legislature passed act abolishingOklahoma Territory effective date thereof duly ratified by governor etc.................................4
