This success led to two major businesses being operational within the town – The State millinery shop (established 1902) which became one of the most successful businesses ever founded within Pulaski County; and Harry Laughlin’s grocery (established 1906), one of the earliest grocery stores west of Memphis opened up shop hereabouts! After World War I, things slowed down somewhat due to lack of war production opportunities but resumed growth following prohibition repeal in 1933; however, this prosperity came to an end after racial violence broke out within the community during Prohibition raids carried out by white mobs against black alcohol salesmen! The post office closed for good at approximately this time makingRogers effectively an unincorporated area once again! However, many people continued to live hereabouts through various forms of business operations such as truck farming or general agriculture until finally succumbing to economic decline starting around 1970 when oil discoveries began flowing into neighboring counties providing greater commercial opportunities! Today, many people continue residing hereabouts although much less formalized than before due largely to their proximity to major city services available both inside & outside their localities!!
