Rogers is a town in west Arkansas, United States. The population was 1,571 at the 2010 census. Rogers was named after General George Rogers Clark and his family, who settled there in 1821. Rogers was founded by General George Rogers Clark and his family on October 20, 1821. The Clarks arrived from Kentucky with their families and started a wagon train that traveled to the Arkansas Territory on October 21. They were the first white people to live in what is now Rogers County. In 1827, General Clark's brother-in-law James Bowie founded an agricultural colony called Bowie Station near present day Lonoke City. This settlement failed within a few years because of lack of water and soil resources. In 1830, mail service between Lonoke City and Fort Smith was established through Captain John Cordon of the 4th Infantry Regiment of the Army of West Tennessee under Lieutenant Colonel Samuel Ruggles Jones. A road connecting these two points became known as "The Arkansas Road". In 1836, Governor Andrew Johnson appointed William Hleta as Territorial Judge for Rogers County due to political unrest in surrounding counties around this time period regarding land claims by freedmen and other non-native Americans about which some felt allegiance to Britain while others viewed them as invaders or occupiers nullifying state sovereignty. Hleta served until 1839 when he resigned due to ill health following an election victory over John Fenton Steele which angered many settlers in neighboring counties who saw him as favoring freedmen over their own citizens. A post office called Rogers was established at this time but it never received any mail because no one could afford to send items cross country on stagecoaches during this time period! In 1840, local farmers built a log cabin known as Enterprise which stands today adjacent to the corner of US Highway 287 & State Route 2 south of downtown Rogersville

In 1923, Rogers hosted its first international visitors' fair and has been hosting similar events ever since. The town is also home to several museums, including the Arkansas History Museum and theRogers Museum of American Art.
