The modern-day AR15 upper receiver is a product of more than fifty years of firearms development and engineering. The origins of the AR15 are traceable back to the early 1940s, when American gun manufacturers began to experiment with new types of ammunition that could be used in their firearms. One such cartridge was the 7.62×39mm NATO round, which was developed by John M. Browning and introduced into service in 1951. In 1959, Colt began developing a rifle barrel that would compatible with both .223 Remington rounds and 7.65x25mm NATO cartridges. This rifle barrel would become known as the Colt® Ranch Rifle Barrel and it would serve as the basis for all subsequent AR15 rifles. It was not until 1968 that Glock Corporation released their first assault rifle, which featured an 8-inch barrel chambered for 5.56mm NATO rounds. By 1984, Ruger had acquired exclusive rights to manufacture 3M Tactical Ammunition used in various US military rifles including the M4 carbine and FAL assault rifle; these projectiles were designated 9mm Luger ammunition (.45 ACP). In 1986, Ruger also licensed production of what became known as “Ruger 10/22” rifles; these firearms featured a 10-inch barrel designed specifically for use with 3M Ammunition (now Remington) hunting rounds specific to this caliber designation (i.e., expanding bullets designed to take advantage of greater penetration than traditional single-point trainers). These rifles continued to be manufactured by Ruger under license through 2006 when they were sold outright to American Outdoor Brands Inc., who continue manufacturing them today under the name Barrett Firearms Company LLC

Paragould, Arkansas is a small town in Pulaski County, Arkansas, United States. The population was 597 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Little Rock–North Little Rock–Westville micropolitan area. The first recorded mention of Paragould occurred in 1827 when General John C. Fremont journeyed through the region and noted its strategic location on the Arkansas River between Fort Smith and Arkadelphia for future military campaigns. George Hennepin also visited Paragould in 1828 and 1829. A post office was established at Paragould in 1836, and by 1840 it had become an important stop on the Santa Fe Trail connecting east Texas with California. In 1861, during the American Civil War, Confederate forces burned down much of Paragould while Union troops defended it from Confederate attack. The town was rebuilt after the war and continued to thrive until 1942 when it lost its status as a manufacturing center to nearby Arkadelphia due to World War II-era restrictions on air travel into that area. In recent years,Paragould has seen increased tourism as a result of its easy access to nature trails and other outdoors activities located within close proximity to its downtown core offers indigenous people who live near by opportunities for cultural experiences outside their traditional communities which are not possible elsewhere in Arkansas; such as attending potlatches or religious services conducted by Native Americans from neighboring states living nearby including Oklahoma City Oklahoma State University
In 1868, two men, John and James Paragould, discovered a gold mine in what is now known as Paragould. The mine was not easy to find but the Paragoulds did not give up until they found it. They started a small town around the mine and named it after their discovery. In 1896, the Arkansas General Assembly created Greer County in response to land claims made by John and JamesParagould.
