In 1907, following incorporation into a consolidated municipality through an act by Pulaski County deputies passed December 3rd 1905,[1] North Little Rock adopted its current name which originated from its location on Broadway Street between ARVADA VALLEY ROAD/I-40 WEST AND US Highway 460 SOUTHWEST near present day Patton Boulevard; "north" being written above "little rock" (See Map below).[2][3] As part of this change in name, all business entities existing within or immediately adjacent to NLL were given their new names reflecting their geographic makeup: First National Bank (later First Arkansas Bank), Citizens Gas Company - successor to Southern IllinoisGas Co., American Telephone & Telegraph Company - predecessor to AT&T Incorporated (now Time Warner Cable)), Marshall House Furniture Store - successor to Marshall Bros., Fidelity Loan Trust No 6 - predecessor to Guaranty Life Insurance Company (Now Wells Fargo Advisors)), Post Office Department No 2 - successor to Upson's General Store No 2 (), Masonic Temple Lodge #1 (renamed Temple Orphanage Sunday School Association) ().[4] Additionally all public schools within NLL were changed from "City Schools" to "School Districts".[5][6] On July 1st 1962,[7], due to local referendum held by citizens,[8] City Schools were again changed back to their original names effective September 8th 1962.[9] This change followed years during which City Schools had been used primarily for private instruction without any real public purpose or programmatic objectives beyond providing continuity for privately operated schools within Pulaski County while also serving as an administrative center for all school district operations outsideof NLL]. In recent years however some members have advocated reviving some form government provision specifically addressingarterial transportation needs withinNLL while neglecting other important services such as police protection etc... While progress has been made over past few decades there remains much more work that must still be done if NLL wants achieve full Municipal status Recognition both nationally and internationally
