Mountain Home is a small town in Pulaski County, Arkansas. It is the seat of the Pulaski County government and lies at an elevation of 6,233 feet (1,847 m). The population was 1,929 as of the 2010 census. As one of the few remaining towns in Pulaski County after it was eliminated by consolidation with nearby Little Rock in 1907, Mountain Home has been known for its hardworking residents and!. The first holster company was formed in 1873 by Captain Fenton of Baltimore, Maryland. It was called "Fenton's Holster Company." By the early 1920s, there were over 50 holster companies in operation throughout America. A major factor in this surge in popularity for holsters was the NRA's founding of the National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF) in 1922 as a non-profit organization dedicated to increasing rifle and shotgun shooting opportunities for American citizens. With increased gun control measures being enacted by both political parties during this time, interest in handguns faded away as the focus shifted towards rifles and shotguns. However, muzzleloading handgun manufacturers continued to produce revolvers until at least 1937 when they changed their name to Colt Firearms Corporation. This switch came about due to expanding competition from Smith & Wesson which had entered into manufacturing revolvers under its own name since 1892. In 1938, Colt Firearms Corporation merged with Remington Arms Company which already manufactured firearms under several different names including Western Armory and Remington Model 8 revolver Company (a subsidiary of Browning). As part of this merger, Remington also purchased some assets of the failed Pierce Electric Rifle Manufacturing Co., which had been founded by George Pierce in 1911. These new holdings included patents related to electric loading devices for firearms and ammunition production; these patents would later be used by Remington to create their famed models such as the Ruger Model 7 Baby Rifles and Super Blackhawk Handguns. In 1951, Colt Firearms Corporation merged with Beretta Arms Corporation which also produced handguns under several different names including Italian Export weapons company Beretta Arsenali e Sieri (BESA), Anglo-American armaments firm British Leyland Industries Ltd., Royal Dutch Shell NV (RNDL), Swiss arms manufacturer Lugnite AG and French arms manufacturer FN Herstal SA (FNH). As part of this merger, Beretta acquired two key subsidiaries: Italian Military Ammunition Plant SEI impresa di munizioni militari italiane - “The SEI” - producing low pressure rounds for pistols while still retaining full ownership and management rights thereto; while Belgian armaments firm Heinemann NV handled sales through FN Herstal SA’s exclusive distributor network throughout Belgium on behalf of Heineken NV [the parent company]

It was founded by Methodists in 1872 and named for Mount Holyoke College, which had been established in 1793 in Massachusetts. The town became a coal mining community during the early 20th century and lost its population to emigration and other causes during the Great Depression. It regained its population after World War II and has since been an agricultural center with a small manufacturing sector. Mountain Home is located on the edge of the Little Rock metropolitan area and is bordered to the north by Interstate 55, to the east by Greenbrier County, to the south by Pulaski County. The town's ZIP code is 87036. As of 2010, Mountain Home had a population of 458 people living in 248 residences. The average household size was 2.51 and the average family size was 3.12. In 2000, there were 176 households out of which 31% had children underthe age of 18 living with them, 59% were married couples living together, 10% had a female householder with no husband present, and 25% were non-families. There were 97 housing units at an average density of 147/km² (45/sq mile).
Mountain Home was founded in 1907 by J.C. Stephenson and his family. The original homestead, which is now a museum, was located on the current site of Mountain Home High School. Stephenson built the school on land he acquired from the Arkansas Agricultural Experiment Station. In 1928, Stephenson donated the old high school to the town of Mountain Home for use as a public school. In 1951, the town of Mountain Home merged with neighboring Indianola to form a new city Limits district. The city limits were eliminated in 1996 when Indianola became an unincorporated community within city limits of Little Rock.
