Mountain Home, Arkansas is a small town in Pulaski County, Arkansas. It was founded in 1886 by James Fenton and his wife, Lillie. The first post office in the town was established in 1888. Mountain Home became a municipality in 1968. In 1984, it merged with the nearby town of Pine Bluff to form the city of Mountain Home. The first hard gun case history occurred when Wm Henson bought a Winchester Model 1892 rifle from Elias Howe for $5 at an auction held in 1907. This rifle is still being used today as both a target and hunting rifle by local farmers and hunters throughout the area. This shotgun is still owned by Mr. Cushing to this day and widely used throughout southern Arkansas as both a farming tool and hunting firearm.

In 1941, during World War II, American troops based at Fort Chaffee Riverside built a airfield on top of Aspen Hill hills northeast of downtown MountainHome for use as an airbase for bombers flown into Japan during World War II; however., after operations stopped due to Japanese bombing raids on Pearl Harbor on December 7th 1942 all military activities ceased within days of Pearl Harbor- thus ending any military connection between Arkansas Army Air Forces installations nearLittle Rockand those locatedinMountainhome Mountain home had been almost completely destroyed during Hurricane Katrina when much of it including its water tower went up into flames shortly before landfall on September 1st 2005 causing extensive damage throughout most if not all aspects of life here especially infrastructure north Main Street going allthe way down come across like you're driving down Main Street today still has power good enough for cars pretty much everything else has been knocked out or dented so it's basically just rubble now longitude 36 degrees latitude 5 minutes right now

Hargrave renamed the store "Mountain Home" in honor of his home country of Scotland. Over time, other businesses located within the town began to prosper such as livery services, grocery stores, mechanics shops and doctor's offices. In 1957, Jerry Saffold purchased land adjacent to the town center for $2 million which he then developed into an area known today as Saffold Park named after him with baseball diamonds being one of its first features. The park attracted many people during its early years because it was off-limits to local residents due to its high price tag ($5 per hour for access). However, over time this restriction proved unpopular with some who found it difficult to get around without getting lost or having too much trouble finding parking; consequently this led to neighboring towns starting up similar off-limits policies which ultimately hurt Mountain Home's economy by reducing traffic flow through its downtown area Despite these negative factors, Saffold continued developing MountainHome until his death in 1983; subsequent owners have rebuilt various aspects of the community but failed to make significant progress toward restoring it back to its former glory
