Gun targets have been a part of the landscape in Mountain Home, Arkansas for over a century. One of the earliest gun targets in the area was built by John W. Sikes in 1892. Sikes built a two-story wooden target tower on his property near East Main and Park streets. The target tower was used to shoot at rabbits, pigeons, and other small animals. In 1895, John W. White purchased the land around Sikes’ target tower and started building his own gun targets. White's Target Company produced high quality targets for both indoor and outdoor use from 1895 until 1949. The first organized shooting event at Mountain Home took place on November 6, 1898 when twenty-two people participated in an ad hoc session to organize a rifle match between local residents. The event was led by Fenton Everson who served as secretary of the local organization committee. It is likely that this initial shotgun matches were also used to test new guns and ammunition available at that time

The first gun target in Mountain Home was a 20-pounder I.R.A. (Improvised Rifle Association) sporting a 5-inch barrel, made of hardwood and steel, on the grounds of the local church in 1875. The first rifle range in Mountain Home opened its doors to the public in 1888 and eventually became known as "The Arsenal." In 1896, the Hargrave Rifle Range was founded by Colonel Royal Hargrave and continued to be used until it closed in 1922 due to lack of patronage. In 1932, The Arsenal reopened as the First National Gun Range under new ownership with a 10-foot elevation change and an improved shooting environment including a firing gallery for .50 caliber rifles.
Mountain Home is a small town in Pulaski County, Arkansas. The population was 1,642 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Little Rock–North Little Rock–Springdale, AR metropolitan area. The town was founded in 1879 by homesteaders who had come down the Arkansas River from Missouri. In 1907 it became a municipality, and in 1959 it became an unincorporated community. Mountain Home is located on a plateau near the confluence of theArkansas and Red rivers. The elevation varies from about 4,000 feet (1,200 meters) above sea level at its highest point to around 2,500 feet (600 m) at its lowest point. The climate of Mountain Home is cool-summer Mediterranean with hot summers and mild winters; average monthly temperatures range from about 36 degrees F (2 degrees C) during winter to about 92 degrees F (39 degrees C) during summer months; precipitation ranges from around 12 inches (30 cm) annually to over 50 inches (130 cm).

Mountain Home, Arkansas is a small town located in Pulaski County, Arkansas. The town was founded on July 1, 1884 by J.B. O'Neal and his wife, Lillie. It is the only community in Pulaski County and the only village in the United States with a population of under 5,000 people. The population increased to over 10,000 by 1990 when it merged with neighboring towns of Mountain Home and Enterprise to become the new city of Mountain Home-Enterprise. The original name for the town was "Granby". Granby was derived from the nearby mountain called Granby Hill which served as a local landmark for centuries until it was destroyed by fire in 1865. In 1907, Mountain Home acquired its own post office which continued operating until 1935. In 1938, Mountain Home became an incorporated municipality and adopted its present name of "Mountain Home". It has been an unincorporated community since that time. In 1990, when it merged with neighboring towns of Mountain home and enterprise to become the new city of MountainHome-Enterprise, it became one of the few places in America where two cities operate side-by-side without any formal governing body or government watchdog service between them
There is no one definitive answer to this question. However, some general information about Mountain Home and its history can be provided. The town was founded in 1872 by John Witherspoon and his family as a small cabin community on the banks of the Arkansas River. A few years later, Witherspoon moved the town to a more permanent location and built a log cabin known as the White House. In 1875, Witherspoon married Anna Linsley and the couple moved into the White House for their first year of marriage. After Anna's death in 1880, John Witherspoon continued to live in Mountain Home with his two daughters until his death in 1902. During John Witherspoon's time as mayor of Mountain Home, he also developed several businesses which still operate today such as a grocery store, bakery, hotel/motel and livery stable.
