The community name is derived from a local mountain called "Hill Top" because it stood as a source of water for the community. A post office was established in Mountain Home in 1886, and remained open until 1959. At the time of its closure, the population of Mountain Home was 1,358. In 1935, Bowen donated land to make up for what he felt were errors in his administration of justice during his time as a county commissioner. The present day courthouse stands on this donation and has been used since then as the court house for Pulaski County. Today, Mountain Home continues to serve as a rural community with excellent schools that offer all students access to good instruction including high school graduate requirements such as college-level math and science courses; agriculture; business/commerce; health care services; music education; and more than 30 extracurricular activities which allow residents to connect with theircommunity through various opportunities outside their everyday lives In addition to its excellent schools, Mountain Home also offers many other unique features that sets it apart from other communities such as: - Active recreation - There are many popular trails available for hikers/bikers or runners/walkers who enjoy exploring nearby areas - Excellent infrastructure - From Roads & bridges to wastewater systems - everything needed for life has been built into the town ensuring that locals can feel comfortable living here without feeling like they have something They needlessly invested money into

Mountain Home is a small town in Northwest Arkansas. It was founded in 1881 by J.W. and Fannie Smith, who homesteaded the land on which the town stands. The Smiths were the first people to live in Mountain Home, and they continue to be its biggest landowners to this day. The town has grown from a handful of homes and businesses to a thriving community with over 1,000 residents. Mountain Home's history can be traced back to 1881, when J.W. and Fannie Smith began living in what is now Mountain Home proper. At that time, the area was still part of Turkey Creek Township, which was then part of Walla Walla County. The Smiths started out by buying one-half mile (1 km) of land west of their current home on State Route 2A for $100 dollars cash. They built a cabin on their new property, and soon enough they had another few acres added onto it as well. In 1884, the Smiths' son Charles bought another one-half mile (1 km) of land east of their original home on State Route 2A for $120 dollars cash - making him the second person to live in Mountain Home Proper! In 1886, Charles married Carrie Chapman - making her also the first woman everto live in Mountain Home! By 1890, there were already several other families living in or around Mountain Home Proper: John Hickey and his wife Emma; John Barron Jr.; James Fenton; Mary McAuley; Alice Sweeting; Sarah Gentry; Angeline Cooksey; Catherine Goodnight...the list goes on! Over time, mountain home grew more popular than just an agricultural outpost – it became known for its beautiful landscape features and stunning scenery! In 1927, mountain home hosted its very own country fair!, which drew many visitors from all over Northwest Arkansas! From then until 1949 (!), mountainhome held regular country music festivals throughout the year! In 1951 (!), however,...the last country music festival took place at mountainhome itself!!! :(
Mountain Home was founded in 1906 by George H. Mountain and his wife, Lillie. The townspeople had to fight off a series of Native American attacks before they were able to build their own homes. From there, the MOUNTAIN HOME INDUSTRIES & MANUFACTURING COMPANY (MHIC) was born in 1909. The MHIC became one of the largest cottonseed oil companies in the United States and its products represented a major part of Arkansas' economy for many years. In 1956, MHIC merged with Coca-Cola Company to form Coke-McDonalds Incorporated.
