The post office closed in 1961 but remains an intact building on Main Street that has been used as a school and community center since then. The original two-story frame schoolhouse still stands near the entrance and is open to public tours every day from 9am until 3pm (closed Mondays). Today's second story addition houses a library which opened in 2001 after being built using proceeds from sales of local real estate development rights adjacent to First Baptist Church on Main Street.
