Maumelle is a small town in Pulaski County, Arkansas, United States. The population was 1,811 at the 2010 census. Maumelle is located on the bank of the Little Rock River. It is part of the Sulphur Springs Micropolitan Statistical Area. The first settlers in what is now Maumelle were religious people who came from Tennessee in 1859 to found a community called Springdale on the banks of the Little Rock River. They named their new settlement after one of their own members, James Worthy (1790-1860). The first store and school were built in 1860; both are still standing today. In 1867, John Sibley founded a mill that processed cottonseed for local mills until it closed in 1922. 2nd Ward Alderman HennieBennett filed an ordinance creating a township on July 1, 1881 with Jno A Pryor as its first president and Thos Fenton as Clerk/Treasurer/Historian In 1902 Mabry & Sons opened up a grocery store which became known as "The Grog Shop." This business continued into the 1940s when it was bought by Coca Cola Company and renamed "Coca-Cola Refreshments." Today, Coca-Cola has moved out of town and most of its businesses have relocated to other towns within Pulaski County or outside Arkansas altogether due to competition from Interstate 20 highway developments since those stores' closure some time ago! A post office was established at Maumelle on December 5th, 1903 by order of 2nd Ward Alderman HennieBennett On January 3rd 1907 mail deliveries began from Post Office at Maumelle service by couriers not horses anymore! That’s right folks – horse drawn mail stopped being delivered to our lovely little town about 1907! Mighty Rooster restaurant served up some delicious food during prohibition days back then too!

Maumelle, Arkansas was founded in 1871 by a group of white men who came from Tennessee. The town was named for Maumelle, Alabama, the home of one of their ancestors. The first store in town was built on what is now Main Street. The town grew quickly and by 1887 it had a population of around 100 people. In 1924, Maumelle became the county seat of Pulaski County. It remained that way until 1938 when Ford County was established and the original courthouse moved to that county. In 1950, Maumelle lost its status as the county seat when Pulaski County merged with McNairy County. Today, it is still an unincorporated community located in McNairy County. One of the most notable residents of Maumelle was George Washington Carver Jr., who migrated to Arkansas in the early 1800s to work on a farm near present-day Decatur and settled there in 1849. Carver went on to become one of Arkansas' biggest citizens and helped develop much of what is now Northwest Arkansas. He also served as governor from 1901-1903 and again from 1909-1911; he is considered one of the most successful governors ever elected in Arkansas (although his term ended during World War I).
Maumelle, Arkansas was founded in 1836 by John C. Smith and is the oldest city in Pulaski County. The population of Maumelle peaked at over 100,000 in the 1940s but has since shrunk to around 30,000.
