Maumelle is a city in Pulaski County, Arkansas, United States. The population was 1,977 at the 2010 census. The town of Maumelle was platted in 1879. It began as a small farming community on the south side of the Little Missouri River. The first gun mags were started by two men who were farmers and ranchers in Maumelle. They took up the hobby of making your own firearms and selling them to otherGun Mag owners throughout the area. At one time there were over fifty Gun Mags operating in and around Maumelle including some that still operates today! In 1910, A&P Sporting Goods started selling ammunition from their store located near Main Street and Highway 9 North in downtown Maumelle. This marked the beginning of what would become an industry giant with more than fifty stores across America selling Ammunition products! In 1912, John Mears founded Standard Armory which became one of the largest rifle manufacturers in the world! His factory located on Highway 9 north produced rifles for both Military & Domestic use! In 1958, Standard Arms went out of business due to several saturating markets with lower quality guns being available onthe market at That same year NRA formed their National Rifle Association bringing together all types retailers that sold Firearms into one organization which helped to keep our Firearm Industry vibrant!

Maumelle, Arkansas is a small town in the Ozarks of southern Arkansas. The population was 1,695 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Little Rock–Springdale–Fayetteville Metropolitan Statistical Area. Maumelle was founded in 1872 by A.L. Godfrey and others as a post office on the edge of what is now known as Fayetteville Township, about 12 miles west of present-day Little Rock. The first store in Maumelle was built on First Street in 1872 by A.L. Godfrey and others who were moving east from Fort Smith, Arkansas after escaping Indian captivity during the American Civil War (1861-1865). The store became known as "Godfrey's Store" because it had been established by Mr. Godfrey's brother Amos Godfrey (Apostle) with money he had won at poker games or given away to support his family during that conflict years earlier. In 1895, A&P grocery opened its doors here and soon became one of the most important stores in town, selling groceries and other items such as hardware and bicycles to customers who walked to its store from various local farms and businesses that dotted the landscape near downtown Maumelle then called simply "The Square." In 1922, when Fayetteville Township was organized into districts (which are still extant), Maumelle became an unincorporated community within District 2; then District 3; finally District 4 which included present day Fayetteville Township proper but also parts of Springdale and Arkadelphia townships south thereof - all lying within Robinson County outside of Little Rock’s city limits until 1959 when those boundaries were redefined by state legislators pursuant to federal law following passage of I- 65 which reclassified Arkadelphia thenceforward as a municipality subject toLittle Rock’s jurisdiction exclusively - making little difference to Maumelle residents although they continued to call their community “Maumelle” throughout this period notwithstanding any official pronouncements thereto contrary! In 1969, due largely To high demand for gasoline storage capacity created by developing areas adjacent to Maumelle – notably White Sands National Monument just north of town – incumbent members Of The County Commission moved their offices from downtownMaumelle back into their original home on Greene Street & Main before finally retiring effective December 31st 1971 after serving Here fo 42 years (& counting!). Today You can still find some tracesOf these early days including Mayor Gaylord Goodyear’s old garage which Still stands Although often used By locals Only For Storage purposes…. Nowadays Known As The “Old Courthouse Annex” nonetheless!

Maumelle, Arkansas is a small town located in the eastern part of the state of Arkansas. It was founded in 1871 and was named after General Andrew JacksonMaumelle, who had served as governor of Arkansas at the time. The population of Maumelle was 1,827 at the 2000 census. The town is home to many interesting historical artifacts such as a blacksmith shop built in 1865, an armory that was used during World War I, and a small library. There are also several restaurants and bars in the town which offer great food options.
Some of the earliest references to Maumelle, Arkansas can be found in 1814 when the United States Congress passed a resolution appointing a military officer to survey and map all of what is now Arkansas. The officer, General James Dickey, traveled through central Arkansas and made surveys of present-day Maumelle. The town was platted in 1832 by John Waddell and his brother Amos Waddell. John's son-in-law, James Fenton, developed the town Lots No. 3 & 4 which are still in use today as streets. A post office operated from 1833 until 1840. In 1839, Elijah Coker donated land to the town for a cemetery. The first settlers were buried there starting in 1840. In 1865, Maumelle became part of the Unionist Party during Reconstruction after the US Civil War ended. In that year it elected two members to the Arkansas House of Representatives before becoming an open seat in 1870 when Abraham Lincoln was reelected presidentoodooed into office with help from eastern Republican radicals who wanted northern states reopens for white settlement without black participation
