This block held a range and shooting ground for local farmers and hunters from 1868-1892. The pistols used on these ranges were custom made by blacksmiths in Magnolia. Magnolia, Arkansas is a small town in Pulaski County, Arkansas. The population was 984 at the 2000 census. It is part of the Fayetteville-Springdale-Rogers, AR Metropolitan Statistical Area. The core of Magnolia is located on the north side of the city limits and around what are now its two shopping malls. The other areas of town include a residential area to the south, an industrial zone to the east, and a small amount of forest to the northwest. According to the 2010 United States Census, Magnolia had a total population of 811. Magnolia's history begins with early pioneers who arrived in 1836 from Georgia and Tennessee and built their homes along what is now State Road 64 (now Nolin Road). This road led directly into what is now downtown Magnolia. A post office was established here in 1837, and by 1840 there were five families living in Magnolia. In 1871 local voters approved annexation by Fayetteville; however, it wasn't until 1900 that Magnolia became a municipality with its own government During World War II much of what is today downtown Magnolia was destroyed by bombing raids from Japan as part of General Douglas MacArthur's "Prelude to Victory" campaign against Nazi Germany. Today most buildings within sight or memory of those who experienced those raids remain standing including Kaiser Aluminum Company Building which still stands as one of only two structures left standing in downtown Jacksonville after being extensively damage during World War II In 1948 when Pulaski County formed out of parts off Arkansas it included all present day Pulaski County except for much larger portions westward including Magnolia which seceded to form Fayetteville- Springdale-Rogers Counties separate but equal entity less than 2 years later on November 15th 1950 resulting in both cities having exactly same population 714 residents
