Magnolia is a small town in Pulaski County, Arkansas, United States. The population was 1,716 at the 2010 census. Magnolia is part of the Little Rock–North Little Rock–Conroe Combined Statistical Area. The town was founded in 1907 by John and Florence Stockett as a station on the Texas and Arkansas Railroad. It became a full-time community in 1912 when the railroad was extended to Magnolia. The first post office was established in 1912; it closed in 1951. The town's name comes from two trees that were located near the original settlement: "Magnolia" is an oak tree that stands tall outside of town, while "Arkansas" is found atop a hill within walking distance of most homes. One of Magnolia's earliest businesses was a general store which operated from 1914 until 1978. In 1962, Magnolia became the home to JB Hiatt High School which continues to be one of its highlights today.
