The Magnolia community was founded in 1872 by nine farmers who bought a small farm near the town of Magnolia. The original settlers were Methodists, but over time, the church grew to include other denominations. In 1915, Magnolia became the county seat and the town split off from the village. In 1926, a new school was built in Magnolia and it served as the main source of education for all of Magnolia County until it closed in 1990. A new school was built in 2010 within the boundaries of the old school site and is now known as Magnolia High School. The first attempts at binoculars were made in 1876 when two men named Hemsley created a pair of binoculars out of lenses they had found at an auction. However, these failed to take off and were only sold to individual members or groups of friends. It wasn't until 1881 when someone decided to make a business out of selling binoculars with an initial investment that things got moving.
Magnolia, Arkansas is a small town in Pulaski County, Arkansas. The population was 2,547 at the 2000 census. It is the county seat of Pulaski County. Magnolia is located in the central part of the state and sits on a plateau overlooking the Mississippi River Valley. The first permanent settler in what would become Magnolia was James Waddell in 1819. He built a log cabin on a bluff above present-day Magnolia Lake. The following year, he married Lucy Woodruff and they set out for what would be their home until his death in 1825. Their three children - Lydia (1820-1892), James P., and Sarah (1824-1910) - were also settlers in this area and all earned an education at local academies or elsewhere before becoming farmers or businesspeople themselves. In 1834, Isaac Stephenson brought over 1,000 acres (500 hectares) of land to what became Magnolia from Illinois to build a cotton gin and other mills. This property would become one of the most important sites within Magnolia for economic development during its early days as it provided ample natural resources such as coal and oil which helped make this community one of the largest cotton plantations west of Memphis, Tennessee by 1850. The village gradually grew with new arrivals from surrounding counties until it reached its peak around 1870 when there were over 100 residents living in brick homes clustered near downtown with about 12 businesses employing 150 people plus many others engaged in agriculture or shopkeeping that supported these activities inland while maintaining some contact with their neighbors downriver via boat or mail. By 1900 only about 60 residents remained inside city limits while most everyone else had relocated outside to fields closer to Highway 65 where transportation was available for freight transport only then coming into town for groceries and services once again scattered throughout neighborhoods now known as northcentral Ark., southcentral Ark., northeastArk., eastArkansas....Today's Magnolia has developed much like its founders did over 400 years ago;folks have come together to support their community through hard work & commerce

Magnolia is a small, rural town in Pulaski County, Arkansas, United States. The population was 1,748 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Little Rock–Fayetteville–Springdale Metropolitan Statistical Area. Magnolia was settled by pioneers in 1853 and named for Magnolia Springs in Tennessee. A post office was established here in 1858, and the town changed its name to Magnolia in 1906. The Butterfield Railroad reached Magnolia in 1904 and made it a Hardware District; this district also included nearby Beattyville. By 1958, only a few businesses were remaining within the original settlement limits of about ; most people had moved away or died during the Great Depression years. In 1971, an Air Force Base closed down at nearby Fort Smith and many residents lost their jobs; however, some businesses reopened and since then things have been slowly improving with new development taking place east of town on what used to be Agricultural land west of town (now part of Springdale). The current community began as a result of two oil spills that occurred along Interstate 20 near here: one from an ExxonMobil well on December 5th 1984 which contaminated more than 2 million gallons (7000 m3) of water including Magnolia Creek and Elk River; the other from an Alcoa mine on October 25th 1986 which polluted over 100 thousand gallons (380 000 m3) water including both creek systems
Magnolia is located in Pulaski County, Arkansas. The community was founded in 1904 by J.M. White and his family. The community grew rapidly due to the discovery of oil in the area, and soon became a center for oil production and refining. In 1957, Magnolia experienced its first tornado when a large tree fell from the sky near campus.
