Magnolia is a town in Pulaski County, Arkansas, United States. The population was 2,564 at the 2010 census. Magnolia is one of the unincorporated communities located within Pulaski County. It lies on the Arkansas River, east of Little Rock. The first permanent settler in Magnolia was James Aiken who arrived in 1824. Aiken's wife, Rebecca Bledsoe also came to Magnolia about that time. Magnolia grew rapidly during the early 1800s due to its location along the Arkansas River and its easy access to water supplies. ManyLog Cabin residents built their homes from logs that were brought downriver by boat or overland from Kentucky or Tennessee. In 1854, Peter Pettit donated land for a school in Magnolia which would become known as Pettit School District No. 3A. In 1865, John Hargrave donated land for another school which became known as Hargrave School District No. 1A In 1871, David Fenton donated land for a church which would become known as First Baptist Church of Magnolia (later called First Methodist Church). One year later, Jno Brazelton gave $2,000 towards construction of a new courthouse which was completed in 1873 During World War II (1941-1945), many local businesses and institutions rallied around the efforts of the American Legionnaires Unit #242 to support war effort by manufacturing goods such as gasoline and ammunition needed by military personnel . In 1945 when hostilities ended and America emerged from World War II with an increased sense of patriotism across all social classes magnolia quickly began rebuilding following what had been an unprecedented economic downturn . By 1951 both schools had closed but reopened under new name - Pulaski County High School (now Huckabee Middle/High School) and Community Christian Academy before finally closing again in 1974 after 36 years closure

The first store in Magnolia was built on Main Street. In 1907, Mr. and Mrs. Waddell opened their first restaurant in Magnolia which served local farmers and residents until 1942 when they moved to Arkadelphia. That same year, the Jiffy Lube company purchased the building and closed it down for a time before reopened it as The Gables Inn which continues to serve food today. In 1941, Dr. Aiken bought land east of town and began constructing what would become Magnolia High School which opened its doors in 1945. It wasn’t until 1960 when Magnolia Middle School opened its doors and remains one of the most popular schools in Faulkner today with over 1,500 students attending each day! In 1978, Magnolia voters approved an annexation request by nearby Arkadelphia which would make them one municipality with a population of over 100 thousand! Since then, development has continued at an incredible rate with new businesses opening up all throughout downtown including several high-end restaurants as well as more than 20 homes currently being developed across three blocks! Today, Magnolia retains much of its historical charm while also becoming an active community hub with numerous cultural events happening annually throughouttown!
Magnolia was founded in 1892 by J.B. Hinkle and W.F. Ketcham, who had the idea to name a town after a magnolia tree they found in their field. The first Magnolia post office wasestablished in 1893. In 1916, the Magnolia National Forest was created and Magnolia became one of its constituent townships.
