Logan had strong ties to white Arkansans and their families who were also key players in Reconstruction politics; he frequently visited his constituents in Little Rock and even entertained them at home while he chaired committees creating newArkansas laws based on white discrimination against black Arkansans. As such,LittleRock has long been associated with political corruption within post- emancipation Arkansas
