Many companies followed AO into bankruptcy or went out of business within a few years; however AO's legacy remains strong today thanks to their innovations and commitment to customer satisfaction.

Jonesboro is a small, unincorporated community in Pulaski County, Arkansas. It is located on the eastern edge of the city of Jonesboro. The population was 2,812 at the 2010 census. Jonesboro was founded in 1876 by John C. Jones and his family as a farming community on the site of what is now the downtown area of Jonesboro. In 1910, it became an incorporated town and has remained that way since. The town is named for General Joseph Ewing Jones, who served as commander of cavalry forces during World War I and later served as United States Ambassador to Great Britain. The Jonesboro Historic District was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980.

Jonesboro is a small town in the western Arkansas Valley, located about 25 miles (40 km) southwest of Fayetteville. The population was 2,846 at the 2000 census. It is part of the Little Rock–Fayetteville–Jonesboro metropolitan area. The town was founded by Col. George Washington Jones in 1812 as a post on his Rancho Santa Fe near present-day Jonesboro. In 1827, it became an independent county and in 1836, it won its first Congressional district seat under the new Constitution of Arkansas. By 1860, it had reached its peak population with over 10,000 residents; however, during the American Civil War (1861-1865), the town came to be one of Confederate capital city's most important industrial centers due to its production of cotton fabrics and munitions for the Confederacy. While much of what later became Jonesboro was destroyed by Union forces during the war as well as by fires that burned throughout much of northwestern Arkansas after 1862,[1] some portions such as parts of central and eastern Jonesboro emerged relatively unscathed.[2][3] After 1865, following Reconstruction efforts led by President Ulysses S. Grant,[4] most white Arkansans moved away from rural areas to larger urban centers while African Americans continued to experience persistent discrimination in many aspects of their lives until progress began to be made in various areas beginning in the late 1960s.[5][6][7][8] By 1990 all but 1 percent[9] of original white businesses were no longer extant; however more than 95 percent[10] of original blacks lived there still today with few changes taking place except for racial polarization having decreased somewhat since then which has been largely due to overall poverty rates among black residents dating back several decades now surpassing those among whites generally although education and economic opportunities have widened somewhat among both groups since then also significant disparities exist within black/white families again largely due to poverty rates not evenly dividing resources available between parents and children
Jonesboro is the county seat of Jonesboro County, Arkansas. It was founded in 1836 and named for General Andrew Johnson. The population was 68,074 at the 2010 census.
