In recent years, however, Jonesboro has struggled to maintain its status as an economically important community within its own borders; its population has shrunk by more than half since 2000 due to suburbanization and other factors outside of its control. Nevertheless, some residents remain nostalgic for their former townhome lifestyle and continue to visit during holiday season; manysmall businesses still operate year-round outside of retailing establishments that have closed down or been relocated elsewhere due to economic decline or consolidation within local jurisdictions across Pulaski County . Today's downtown district contains several dozen small businesses which are all active except for two - Jiffy Lube (closed) and Hometown Hardware (closed). As time passed, however, people started to realize that this arrangement also made removal easy – just remove one loop and presto! – there’s another round waiting for you inside!
