Jacksonville, Arkansas is a small town in the Ozarks of central Arkansas. The population was 2,852 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Little Rock-Fayetteville-Springdale, AR Combined Statistical Area. The history of Jacksonville goes back to 1871 when it was founded as "Newbern", named for General Daniel Boone. Newbern was originally located on the east side of the Arkansas River and became a small town with a population of about 100 people. In 1907, Jacksonville moved to its present location on the west side of the river and had a population of 1,500 people. In 1930, Jacksonville annexed parts of neighboring towns and villages including White Sands (now an unincorporated community), Blue Grass (now part of Fayetteville), and Pigeon Forge (now an unincorporated community). That same year, Jacksonville became one of five towns in Pulaski County to be established as dry counties. In 1935, Jacksonville annexes Mount Carmel which served as its municipal Airport until it closed in 1978. In 1951, Jaguars selected new city government form by choosing three members from each precinct who were then elected to serve four-year terms; this system remains in use today. On November 3rd ballot initiative Gulfstream Park Redevelopment Authority referendum approved sought annexation by Jacksonvillians seeking tax breaks that would have generated $8 million over 10 years for park development projects such as retailing and office space along Interstate 30/I-40 South only if all other planned uses within 60 miles were also approved by voters This measure would have returned much needed money back into Jacksonvillians hands after years being wasted on nonessential projects around Gulfstream Park without any benefit seeing fruition due to lack of support from City Hall Despite overwhelming vote against annexation by almost two thirds majority citizens; City Council decided not pursue annexation due to lack either political will or financial resources
In laser sights history, there are many different devices that have been used to help shooters aim their firearms. Some of these lasersights were developed specifically for use with firearms, while others were designed more generally and have been used in other types of shooting. One of the earliest devices to be used in a laser sight system was the Laser Sight System (LSS) from Heckler & Koch. This device consisted of a cylindrical lens that wasmounted on top of an arms-length barrel. The LSS allowed shooters to see distant targets through the lens and target acquisition could be done by adjusting the focus on the lens. Another early laser sight system was the “Handsfree” from Illuminet Inc. This device incorporated a light-emitting diode (LED) array into an arm rest that allowed users to see targets clearly even when their hands were free. The Handsfree also had adjustable focus and it could be connected to a personal computer or printer so that it could be viewed remotely. The first true laser sighting system was developed by Raytheon Co., Ltd., called the LaserGuidance System (LGS). This device employed three rotary encoders to track position data relative to an aiming point inside a housing located on top of an armrest. Shooting results were displayed on two small monitors placed around the edge of the housing, making it possible for users to adjust range and elevation information using simple hand motions. Other early lasersight systems included those from General Electric Co., The ArmaLite Corporation, and Browning Firearms, Inc.. These devices shared several features common to all later systems: they employed image intensifiers built into either lenses or sensors; they adopted digital readouts instead of paper dials; they offered variable magnification levels; and they featured automatic recalibration capabilities as needed rather than relying solely upon manual adjustment

Jacksonville, Arkansas is a town in Pulaski County, Arkansas, United States. The population was 2,611 at the 2010 census. Jacksonville is bordered by Benton to the north and east, Little Rock to the south and west, and Bryant to the northwest. It is part of the Little Rock-North Little Rock-Isabelle metropolitan area. The town was founded in 1881 when a post office was established in Jacksonville on the Arkansas River. The first mayor of Jacksonville was J.D. Payne Sr., who served from 1886 until 1889. In 1903, Jacksonville annexed parts of Benton County and became a city under its own government with a Mayor/Council form of government. In 1924, Jacksonville affiliated withLittle Rock as an incorporated city with its own police department and fire department; this affiliation lasted until 1927 when Little Rock withdrew from incorporation into Jacksonville due to financial issues. On October 1, 1931 voters passed a resolution asking for abandonment of what had become known as "the little rockIntegrity". On November 6th following passage of that resolution by both City Councils - 8-1% -Jacksonville voted 3-0 against abandoning its civic identity within North Little ROCK Municipality for lack of any other means of self-governance or representation other than through appointed City Officials which never materialized resulting in what has come to be known as "The Jacksonvilles" continuing their unique form of governance even after disbanding their municipality in 1977 due to political discord brought about by changes within neighbouring municipalities

Jacksonville became an important center of African American culture and commerce in the late 19th century. In the early 20th century, Jacksonville experienced significant growth thanks to its location on the Mississippi River and its access to both agricultural and industrial resources. During World War II, Jacksonville played a major role in the American victory against Nazi Germany. The city has since undergone various transformations, including becoming one of the fastest-growing cities in Arkansas.
