The history of the soft gun case in Hot Springs, Arkansas dates back to at least 1907. At that time, the town was located in Dawson County and toolmakers and farmers used kerosene lamps as their primary source of light. One such lamp maker was J.H. Cagle, who manufactured cases for firearms using a variety of materials such as felt, leather, metal and wood. The first soft gun case made in Hot Springs was made from a cotton twill fabric and had a heavy brass crossguard with an eagle head pommel. It was decorated with green stripes running down the sides and featured a single-action revolver stock. According to one account, this particular softgun case sold for $1 when it was purchased by Captain John Hines from J.H. Cagle in 1908. Another early owner of a softgun case in Hot Springs was Wm Dickey Jr., who operated an ostrich farm located near the town center between 1909 and 1915. Dickey used his farm barns as storage facilities for handguns bought during prohibition sales across the United States run by his brother-in-law Harry Bridges (owner of H & H Sporting Goods). In 1916, Wm Dickey passed away leaving his son William Jr., age 16 at the time, to manage his father's business affairs while he attended college on scholarship at Arkansas State University Law School. After being held back by financial difficulties at law school, William Jr.'s long career as an attorney began when he took over management of his father's company in 1925 after William Sr.'s death aged 87 years old! Since World War II there has been significant growth within the industry related to handgun manufacturing based out of Arkansas including new companies such as Smith & Wesson Firearms Company which relocated its headquarters from Springfield Armory in 2003; Glock AG which opened its doors in 2007; Ruger Firearms Incorporated which moved its headquarters from Fort Worth Texas to Little Rock Arkansas in 2009; Colt Industries Inc., makers of pistols since 1858 (now Colt Defense) which established operations here beginning with production of semiautomatic pistols starting in 2006; SIG Sauer Group AG (Swiss Arms Holding GmbH), founded 1929 (now Sig Sauer USA LLC) is headquartered here with subsidiaries throughout North America including NORAD Command Post rifle factory outside Aurora Illinois - home since 1961 other than Scottsdale Arizona where it operates under several names including American Outdoor Brands Corporation In addition FN Automobiles Frères SA – owners/operators since 1924 [FN Manufacturing], also BASF SE Deutz AG – parent company until 2002 [BASF] have all substantial plants or divisions here within our state employing thousands directly or indirectly associated with each other providing jobs totals some 20% or more statewide - hardly ever did any business venture go away without some effect on our economy !!!!!

Hot Springs is a small, rural town in Pulaski County, Arkansas, United States. The population was 553 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Little Rock–North Little Rock–Conway Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first people to live in Hot Springs were Native Americans who hunted and fished along the Arkansas River and its tributaries. In 1836, General John C. Frémont explored the area and named it " Hot Springs" after his personal meadow near present-day Hot Springs National Park. A post office was established at Hot Springs in 1892, and remained in operation until 1993. In 1902, Confederate Brigadier General Albert Sidney Johnston offered land for a military hospital in Hot Springs; however, no one took him up on his offer because he was then serving as governor of Tennessee. In 1907, President Theodore Roosevelt visited Hot Spring while on a campaign tour of western Arkansas; he recommended that Federal troops be stationed there to help with diseases such as malaria which were endemic in that region at the time. In 1916, during World War I, an American air base was built at nearby Fort Smith (later Fort Smith Air Force Base) to serve as a staging area for American Expeditionary Forces flying airstrikes against Germany from RAF bases over France and Belgium; however, no one moved into or used the base until after World War II when it became known as Little Rock Air National Guard Base (). In 1951-1952 local officials decided that some needed improvement so they organized what became known as "the No Name Committee." This group worked tirelessly to improve business conditions throughout town by soliciting input from residents about need for new businesses and improvements not available through government assistance programs like tax breaks or loans ().named structures such as civic center (), high school (), Baptist church (), library ()and post office ()were all completed during this time period without Government funding which shows how much enthusiasm did exist back then for growth and improvement within any given community! It wasn't until later when money started flowing into the coffers of state government through various taxes specifically reserved for towns like Hot Springs which allowed them more leeway with their budgets due to limited resources themselves! In 1984 voters approved an increase in property valuationlimits on value increases above certain thresholds had been placed upon municipalities across Arkansas based off population size rather than commercial acreage (!), marking a turning point for development within any given municipality! As of 2010 there are now more than 20 businesses located inside & outside of town limits alone because since then our economy has grown by leaps & bounds!
