According to newly released US Census data from 2018 --- Hope's only growth occurred duringMayor Asa Hutchinson's first year in office (2017) when their population rose 2%. This despite Hope having over 12 square miles less land area than any other Arkansan city or town! Despite this lack of growth over the past several decades --- Hope has seen significant progress over recent years due largely to numerous property acquisitions made by Mayor Hutchinson along with support from local businesses including various agricultural interests ---- primarily those engaged in growing cotton! The 2017 Cotton Belt Expo which took place at hay bale facilities throughout northeast Arkansas offered hope residents an event they could attend that would be beneficial not just economically but also environmentally because exhibitors showed off new technologies related specifically to sustainable agriculture products! Other events taking place during that period included: Construction Week (May 17-21), Arkansan Renaissance Festival (July 4-7), Peach Blossom Festival (August 14-17), Christmas Tree Lighting (November 25) among others---- each providing opportunities for Gainesville citizens who live east of Interstate 20 exit #4 on Highway 7 southward ---- not too far from downtown Hope ----to get involved locally in some aspect either directly or indirectly impacted by events taking place within easy walking distance!

Hope's history dates back to 1821 when Virginia Cushman settled a claim in what is now Hope County. She naming her new settlement after herself and her daughter who had been born there the previous year. Other early pioneers included John White and his family who arrived in 1824; James Sprague and his brothers who came in 1828; Abram Hosea Pratt with his brother Moses in 1830; Elijah Caldwells with their families in 1835; Daniel Boone with his family in 1840; Isaac Newton with his familyin1845-46; and James Fenton with his familyin1849-50. The first post office was established at Hope on October 20, 1903. The town experienced some growth during World War II as many businesses were destroyed or damaged during the conflict. A large munitions plant operated out of Hope from 1943 to 1945, which resulted in health problems among local residents. The community also benefited from military spending that created more jobs throughout the area following World War II. In 1951, Hope consolidated into Pulaski County under one government structure due to population growth within Pulaski County while neighboring counties continued to operate as separate entities.
