The company manufactured rifles and pistols for local farmers and hunters. In 1955, the Buffalo Rifle Company was purchased by National Firearms Corporation (NFC) and became part of their NRA divisions. NFC produced handguns under the name Western Arms Corporation until its merger with Gaskin Brands in 1987 to form Gaskin-NFC Incorporated. From 1875 to 1957, Hornady Ammunition Manufacturing Co., LLC made rounds for assault rifles such as the AR-15/M1 carbine, among other firearms made in Helena West Helena. In 1969, Hornady Ammunition Manufacturing ceased operations in West Helena due to economic challenges; however, it continued manufacturing rounds for AR-15s until 1997 when it merged with American Outdoor Products (AOP) to become ArmaLite Ammunition Incorporated. Between 1970 and 1994 ArmaLite Manufactured ammo for handguns including models such as Glock 19s and Smith & Wesson Model 60 revolvers; from 1995 until 2003 they produced ammunition only for .45 ACP pistols which were then replaced by 9mm Parabellum ammunition products

Helena West Helena is a city in Pulaski County, Arkansas, United States. The population was 3,873 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Little Rock-North Little Rock-East Little Rock Metropolitan Statistical Area. HelenaWest Helena is home to the Helena West High School and the Helena West Community College. The town was named after General John Fenton who fought in the Mexican–American War and later served as Governor of Arkansas. In 1872, General Fenton donated land for a post office which became known as HelenaWest Helena. The town was founded by white men on what would become Black Prairie Creek near present day White Lake Road and Highway 431. The first post office opened in 1875 and its name changed to Helena in 1879 because of objections from other towns in Pulaski County that were given names that began with an "a". In 1911, George Murchison developed some land southwest of downtown which he called Murchison Park after his son-in-law, banker George Hines Murchison. When it became clear that White Lake Road would be built through his property, Murchison sold most of his land to the city for $15 per acre ($ when measured against current prices). This donation set off a bidding war among cities for control over what became one of Pulaski County's largest shopping districts before it was finally annexed into Little Rock in 1914. According to the 2010 census, 2% of citizens identify themselves as black or African American while 98% are white non-Hispanic residents

Helena West Helena was born on October 3, 1875, in the small town of Helena, Arkansas. Helena's parents were John P. andElizabeth (Bennett) West Helena. John was a farmhand and Elizabeth worked as a seamstress. As a child, Helena loved to read and write. She also enjoyed spending time with her friends and family. In 1892, at the age of 15 years old, Helena married John Witherspoon in what was to be her only marriage. They lived together until his death in 1944. After John's death, Helena continued to live with her children until they all died in 1978. In 1948, after more than 60 years of military service within the United States Army Reserve Corps (later redesignated as the Arkansas National Guard), Helena retired from military service with rank of colonel. From 1942-1979 she served as Secretary of State for the state of Arkansas under Governor George Wallace during the latter part of his role as Governor of Arkansas between 1961-1968; she also served as chairperson for the Citizens' Commission on Equal Opportunity during that time period After retirement from government service, Mrs. West Helena continued to reside in Arkansas until she passed away on November 6th 1985 at The Home Place Nursing Home in Little Rock following an illness which had been progressing for some time prior thereto
Helena West Helena was founded in 1881 by Ishmael West and his wife, Helena. The town was named after Helena's maternal great-grandmother, who died young in 1876. The first post office was established in 1882, and the first store opened in 1886. In 1893, the Westers bought a farm on the east side of the town from Horace White. The Westers built a two-story house on the property and named it "West Helena". They also began to raise horses and cows. around this time, they started to sell milk to local residents for $1 per quart. In 1907, the Westers bought another farm on the west side of town from J.C. Hargrave. They renamed it "Helena West Helena" after their daughter Helen. Around this time, they started to grow crops such as corn, beans, potatoes and strawberries on their new farms; however, they did not start selling milk until 1914 when they added a cow dairy to their operations.
