By 1860, many scientific teams had been formed using monochrome telescopes which led to improved accuracy when focusing on targets across different distances and provided observers with an amazing view from any position within range

Hagenbeck until 1978 when he passed it along to his son-in-law Donny Hagenbeck Jr. Donny operated the business until 2000 when it was closed due to financial difficulties.

It was founded in 1871 and named for Helena Belleview Cady, daughter of a wagoner. The first post office in Helena was established in 1872 and called Belleview; it closed in 1907. Helena was incorporated as a city on November 2, 1934.
