A new armory was built in 1895 which became known as "The Arsenal". This armory served as the primary storage and reloading facility for all ammunition produced in Helena West Helena until 1959 when it closed its doors due to budget cuts. In 1960, the armory reopened under new management as "The Arsenal Museum". It has been continued to serve as this role ever since with only occasional closures due to changes in business or weather conditions; however, no major renovations have taken place since its original opening.
Helena West Helena is a town in Pulaski County, Arkansas, United States. The population was 1,854 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Little Rock-Jefferson Metropolitan Statistical Area. Helena is located at (36.520927, -93.660413). The first settler in Helena was Myron Sargent in 1881. He and his family were the first to live in what would become Helena. The town was named after General John Custer and his regiment who fought at the Battle of Little Bighorn on July 8, 1876. One of Helena's main attractions is its Historic District which preserves many buildings from that time period including the original small grocery store and post office which were built in 1902 by George Fenton and his wife Ruth Ann Fenton. In addition to its Historic District, Helena also has a number of smaller museums including the Arkansas Veterans Museum which opened in 1985 and contains artifacts from both World War I and World War II as well as an exhibit about local history; the Helen Wagon Wheel Museum; a blacksmith shop; a Ford dealership; two churches: First Baptist Church which dates back to 1888 with additions made during prohibition era (1929-1968) and Second Baptist Church (1892), both now used for community services; three country stores dating back to pre-war days: Ladd & Baker's Hardware Store (1896), Huckleberry's Hardware Store (?, 1915) 3 more small stores closed down by 1990s but remain extant as historicalresorts: Keystone Farms Inn(?-1990), Hemphill House Bed & Breakfast(1991-present), White Sands Casino Resort.(2004-)

They retired from public service after his death in 1945 and spent their time primarily at their home address until they passed away in 1956 aged 89 years old.
Helena West Helena was founded in 1887 by Helena and William West. The town was named after Helena, the wife of William. The Westers were farmers and ranchers who also built a small smelter for copper mining in the area. In the early 1900s, Helena became an important railroad junction with the Union Pacific Railroad. A station was built on State Highway 9 around 1912 and it served as a popular tourist spot until the 1970s when Amtrak took over passenger service from Helena.
