(Harrison, Arkansas) is a small town in Pulaski County, Arkansas, United States. The population was 914 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Little Rock–North Little Rock–Conway, AR Metropolitan Statistical Area. Harrison was founded in 1881 by John Harrison and his wife Anna. The first store was built on the present site of the city hall in 1882. In 1902, the Harrison family donated land for a public school and were among the first to subscribe to the Arkansas statehood movement. After years of development, including an increase in population from 1800 to 2400 people during World War II and portions of every other decade since then, Harrison's population reached its peak in 1990 with 1,856 residents. However, due to declines in manufacturing and retail trade over that period as well as changes within local political boundaries made through annexation or Town Demands Plan revisions throughout Pulaski County which have had a significant impact on resident populations since then (see below), today's Harrison has only 712 residents according to2010 census estimates
