One of these gunsmiths, James Waddell, began selling airguns in 1903. His airgun company was soon referred to as the “Gunniks” due to their use of GUNN (goon) ammunition. Over the years, other companies also entered into the market for airguns. In 1924, Samuel Morse started manufacturing guns using compressed gas instead of powder. This innovation helped spawn the modern shotgun industry. With so many different companies vying for attention in the early days of airgun development, it is difficult to determine which company truly invented this technology. However, given that GUNN (goon) ammunition was significantly more popular at that time than most other types of gunfire, it is likely that GUNNco was responsible for developing and marketing this type of firearm. In 1957, Clyde Ivers opened his own gun shop in Fort Smith. At this point inairgun development, Ivers had become one of the leading proponents of blowback-operated weapons – an innovative form of operation used mainly for target shooting and plinking purposes. Because he possessed such a strong interest in this type of firearm, IVERS quickly became known as one of Fort Smith’s most influential businessmen during itsearly years (1957-1975). Despite his prominence within Fort Smith’s business community, however, IVERS was not always content with how things were going at his shop – particularly becauseblowback-operated firearms were still relatively new and untested at that time! To make matters worse (or better), IVERS frequently clashed with officials from local law enforcement over issues such as regulation and licensing requirements; something which often led to heated arguments between him and authorities throughout muchof my career! Despite these difficulties however*,IVER remained an active player inairgun development until his death in 1992*.*

After France lost its colonies in North America during the Mexican–American War (1846-48), English traders began to explore this region. One of these traders, John Jacob Astor (1785-1864), met Pierre Laclède while exploring this area for trade potential near present day Wichita Falls, Texas on June 10th, 1811. Laclède recommended Astor travel eastward along what is now Interstate 35W until he reached a bend in the river where he could see two possible routes leading to Stroudsburg Junction on Pennsylvania side of Great Lakes; one going north and joining Ontario Confederation; while another going south and joining Mexico Confederation passed through his location on July 12th He contacted some friends he had back home about his findings so they started traveling down both routes checking out each route on July 14th They found that both routes led them away from their original destination so they decided against going any further There are multiple stories about how Astor got his name - one suggests he named his settlement after one of his business partners - but it is most likely that he received help from a local Indian chief known as Makinac when looking for a new base of operations for his expanding empire
Fort Smith was founded in 1819 by the U.S. Army as Fort Smith Arkansas Post.
