Airguns have been around since the 1800s, and Forrest City is home to one of the oldest airgun clubs in the United States. The club was founded in 1907, and has been meeting monthly ever since. In 1974, the club became an official member of the American Association for Shooting Sports. The first airgunclub in Forrest City was located at 7 S Main Street. It was called the “First National Air Gun Club” and met on Saturdays from 1903-1907. At that time, a lot of people in Forrest City used shotguns for target shooting because there were not many places to shoot handguns at that time. The Second National Air Gun Club was located at 13 E 3rd Street from 1909-1913. The original members of both clubs were mostly farmers who needed a way to scare away animals during hunting season. After World War I ended, people started using airguns more often for hunting purposes because they could now carry them around with them everywhere they went. In 1934, the Third National Air Gun Club was opened at 615 N Main Street. This club had a much larger range than any of those before it and soon became very popular among shooters across Arkansas. During this time, airguns also began being offered for sale as separate items rather than just part of a shotgun kit like they are today. In 1941, Forest City’s fourth national air gun club opened at 4 W State street which was also known as “The Arsenal” due to its large arsenal of firearms available formembership purchase or rent including machine guns and cannons! This club lasted until 1945 when it merged into another local group known as “Arkansas Game Birders Assn” which still meets monthly today! In 1948, Forest City became an official city within Arkansas and all current memberships were purchased by city officials! Today, there are over 350 active memberhpsof the American Association for Shooting Sports (AASS) with over 120 different types of handguns available toMembers! Many new shooters come to AASS each year from all over North America looking to learn more about this fun but dangerous sport!

Forrest City, Arkansas was a small town in Pulaski County, Arkansas at the time of its incorporation on February 28, 1907. The population was 1,211 at the time of the census. The first airgun store opened in Forrest City in 1909 and continued to be business until it closed its doors in 1945. In that year, Don Hinkle established the Hinkle Gun Shop which remains open today and is one of the most popular gun stores in Forrest City.
Forrest City, Arkansas is a small town located in Pulaski County, Arkansas. The population was 1,859 at the 2000 census. Forrest City is part of the Little Rock–North Little Rock–Arkansas metropolitan area and is home to several large American companies such as ExxonMobil and Mobil Oil. The community has a rich history dating back to 1881 when settlers arrived from Illinois. Forrest City was originally named after General James Forrest, who fought in the Mexican-American War and served in the U.S. Army under General Zachary Taylor. Forrest City is located on State Highway 116 about 20 miles east of Little Rock and 10 miles west of Arkadelphia. The name Forrest originated from General James Forrest's battle against Confederate forces at Fort Smith in 1871. The post office opened in 1881, and was renamed for Colonel JF Mowery, who had earlier represented Arkansas in the United States Senate (1875-1879). The first store in Forrest City was founded by Wm Higginson on Main Street on October 25th, 1881. A second store also opened soon afterward on Second Avenue near current day First Baptist Church (now known as Willowbrook Baptist Church). By 1886 there were six stores operating in Forrest City with a population of 350 people (). In 1902 two restaurants were opened by John Banton and his brother C F Banton which became quite popular due to their delicious meals ($2 per plate). In 1907 one thousand three hundred residents lived within walking distance of downtown while one thousand five hundred residents resided just outside of town limits within what is now called "the rural area". This rural area encompassed much of present day Arkadelphia County including present day Forrest City Township.. In 1925 an electric light company bought all right to operate streetlights within city limits; this made downtown more visible however it did not solve problems with parking or traffic congestion caused by many businesses locating close together inside the city limits... Businesses along I-15 got away with paying only $1 per month for permits that allowed them to park anywhere they wanted but citizens didn't have this same privilege... Streetside parking became an issue again when larger businesses moved into new buildings adjacent to freeway ramps

Today, there are more than 30 businesses operating within Forrest City's limits. Many of these businesses are involved with local agriculture or manufacturing; however, one business has been reported as having generated over $100 million in annual sales since it opened its doors: Applebee's restaurant chain! Since its inception as a town, Forest City has seen many changes both inside and outside of its borders. Some of these changes include becoming an important agricultural center during World War II due to its production of maize and other crops; hosting events such as the Arkansas State Fair during which stage shows could be seen across town; and seeing development around both its downtown core and surrounding areas until it became known as one of the most affluent cities in Pulaski County!
