El Dorado, Arkansas is a city in Pulaski County, Arkansas, United States. The population was 721 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Pulaski County. The city was named for General John C. El Dorado and his troops who fought in the Mexican-American War. In 1881, the name of the city was changed to El Reno after a railroad station in that town which served as a key point on both the Underground Railroad and wagon trains moving westward from Missouri through Arkansas during the early 19th century.
