In 1893, Harry Fenton erected a frame courthouse on what is now State Road 522 south of town. On November 25th that year he received from Ulysses S Grant an order appointing him as Commissioner of Indian Affairs for Arkansas Territory - becoming one of only two men ever so honored in that role within Arkansas history In 1907 President Theodore Roosevelt dedicated the new White Sands Missile Range located about northwest of Conway – providing essential wartime ammunition production capability for Little Rock – making it possible for America’s complete destruction of Germany’s weapons forces during World War II The first post office in Conway opened on October 30th 1902 with mail service provided by Stagecoach Lines between Little Rock and Fort Smith via Arkadelphia On July 11th 1921 General Leonard Wood's Headquarters army division camped outside DeMint while engaging Confederate commandos near Camden Junction west side of Conway River just southwest (just north)of present day Carbondale MO

The first post office was established in 1865, and the first school was built in 1867. In 1870, a general store and blacksmith shop were built on what is now Main Street. In 1887, a Methodist church was built on Main Street, and in 1912 a small grocery business opened on North Avenue. The population of Conway grew from 1,000 to around 10,000 by 1920. In 1951, a new high school (now known as Arkadelphia High School)was constructed on West Highway 14 near present day Arkansas State University.
