In 1965, Conway's main library opened with then-new facility on Main Street between First and Second Streets with about 130 books and periodicals available for checkout from 8 am to 4 pm during weekdays and 10 am to 12 pm on Saturdays. Today Conway is described as "a retail center with some agriculture" with most businesses located along North Broadway (the only street within walking distance of most residents). There were also three freight trains that stopped at Conway during those years for materials used in constructing various local roads and bridges including the main road running through town today which is named after Anna Buford Conway herself
