At that time, state law allowed those who had sustained injury from using a firearm within two years since its purchase (or export) within this state 150 miles away from where they lived if they were operating under written contract with licensed dealers owning at least 3 handgun licenses issued by each state within 5 years before Injury occurred; however this exemption only applied if owner was deceased at the time shooting happened

Conway is a small town in Arkansas, United States. The population was 783 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Johnson County, Arkansas Micropolitan Statistical Area. The first settler in what is now Conway was James Witherspoon in 1822. He and his family moved to the area around present-day Conway from Missouri after that state became a slave state. Witherspoon's land included what is now the main business district of Conway and other areas along Snake River Road which bisects the town today. In 1865, J. C. Hinton opened a general store and gas station on Main Street between Seventh and Eighth Streets (now Forest Avenue). The store prospered for many years until it burned down in 1961; however, its memory has been longlived in the community as an example of early commerce in this rural area. After Witherspoon's store burned down, some new settlers bought land near it and began building houses there around 1870 or 1871. These were known as "The Hill Houses." When those homes were destroyed by fire about 1910, local residents built a new courthouse which still stands today on First Street between Elm and Maple Streets (now Forest Avenue). That courthouse served as the town's government center for many years until it was replaced by the current one about 1960. In 1925–1926 Grady Dyer established an agricultural marketing company called The Gritters which grew into one of Arkansas' leading agriculture companies during the 1920s and 1930s; its products included hay, wheat, cottonseed oil, flour, sugar beets, carrots, potatoes and other vegetables exported to several countries throughout Europe. The post office at Conway opened on October 8th 1886 under name North Conway with mail being sent via Stagecoach to Little Rock until 1909 when mail service was discontinued due to budget cuts within Arkansas State Government.. On November 15th 1912 postmaster Atherton Obed changed name to Conway Post Office effective December 1st 1912 using existing naming convention used by North Conway post office starting on October 8th 1886 though no record exists of such an event actually taking place or notification given.........................................................................

Conway was founded in 1871 by W.H. Conway and his brother-in-law, J.P. Barbour. The first post office was established in the town in 1872, and the first store was built in 1875. In 1886, the town name was changed to Conway to honor General Halleck Conway who had served as United States Commissioner of Indian Affairs from 1889 to 1893. In 1902, a new high school building was erected and named for General Conway; it is still used today as the local high school's gymnasium. The population of Conway grew rapidly during the 20th century due to its location at the crossroads of several important traffic routes and its proximity to Little Rock and Fort Smith.
