In 1886, the local post office moved to its present location on South Dayton Street. In 1907, John Conway donated land to create a public park in honor of his father-in-law, General James Wilkinson Conway Sr.. The park contains two playgrounds, three tennis courts, a children's play area with swings and wading pools, and aanger ball court. In 1978, the Arkansas Legislature designated the park as Conway State Park. According to the United States Census Bureau, Conway has a total area of , all of it land.
