After the war, many factories closed but some continued operations such as Mayco Motors which still stands today across from the high school campus today. During this time also several small businesses grew up along with restaurants like Red Lobster and Ruby Tuesday that continue operation today as well as several Baptist churches which serve the local community even into present day days.
