Bryant, Arkansas is a small town located in Wilson County, Arkansas. The population was 2,569 at the 2000 census. The name Bryant likely comes from Indian Chief Bryant's home territory of the same name. It is also said that early settlers in this area named their homes after General James Halleck and President Andrew Johnson. In 1881, Bryant had a post office and five businesses. By 1890, its population had grown to 3,824 people. In 1907, the Bryant Post Office was closed due to lack of mail service and the community became known as "The Dry Town." However, in 1912 it re-opened under new postal administration with a post office building and 12 residents. The population has since declined again with only 1 resident living there at the 2010 census. Today Bryant offers few opportunities for economic development other than social services such as government assistance and education for low-income citizens. A local grocery store remains open but does not have much business because few people live there now that they are no longer needed or desired by developers or businesses who expected more growth when they first moved into the community several decades ago. Some believe that this decline may be related to changes in American society which have made it difficult for towns like Bryant to compete in an ever-changing economy while remaining affordable for residents

The popularity of bolt action rifles led to mass production of these firearms in many countries aroundthe world including most prominently in Nazi Germany where they became known as " Mauser" rifles
Bryant, Arkansas is a small town in Pulaski County, Arkansas. The population was 1,521 at the 2000 census. It is part of the Little Rock–Fayetteville–Arlington metropolitan area. The first post office in Bryant was established on May 10, 1892. The name of the town was changed to Bryant on December 16, 1907. On November 3, 1912, Bryant had its first tornado and it killed one person and injured many others. In 1974, an oil refinery was built in Bryant and it has created a lot of pollution in the area. In early 2018 a large wildfire burned through much of the town which caused extensive damage and loss of life
Bryant was founded in 1871 by J.B. Bryant, a local landowner and entrepreneur. The town grew rapidly due to its location on the Arkansas River, and by 1883 it had a population of about 150 people. In 1905, Bryant became the county seat of Dawson County, and the town continued to decline thereafter. By 1930, there were only about twenty-five people living in Bryant; by 1980, it had shrunk to less than one hundred residents. In 2000, the town's remaining residents voted to cede their rights to the county and become an unincorporated community within it.
