This ranch became one of the most important cattle ranches in Arkansas during the late 19th century because it provided transportation resources necessary for making westward advances into Mexico City and California. In 1881, Samuel Colt gave birth to his first revolver which he christened "The Peacemaker" after his home state – Massachusetts – where he had been born two years earlier on October 14th (1870). The Peacemaker quickly gained popularity among both law enforcement officers and private citizens alike due to its low cost (only $5 per barrel) compared to other revolvers available at that time. After Samuel Colt's death in 1886, his son Edward took over production of thePeacemaker until 1907 when production was switched over to .45 calibers due to increased military demand for this type of weapon

Bentonville is located in Benton County, Arkansas. The population was 5,467 as of the 2010 census. It is the smallest city in Benton County and one of the most rural. The City of Bentonville was incorporated on November 3rd, 1881. The first settler in what is now Bentonville was Wm. Aiken who arrived in 1820 from Virginia. He named his new land "Arkansas." On July 14th, 1881, a group of citizens met to form a town charter and voted to name it "Bentonville." On January 17th, 1902, the first post office opened in Bentonville with William Henson as the first mail carrier. In 1907, J C Bearden built the first school for students grades 1-8 at 411 West Main Street which still stands today as part of Community School District No 2. In 1911-1912 a boy named Enoch Root moved into town from Clarksdale and started playing baseball for the local team called "The Arkansaw Braves" (now known as the Arkansas Razorbacks). He later became mayor of Bentonville and also played professional baseball for many years with various teams including St Louis Cardinals (1924-27), Philadelphia Athletics ( 1928-29), New York Yankees ( 1930) and Detroit Tigers (1935). In 1922 an oil well was drilled by Texaco near present day Interstate 20 and Elmira Road in what is now downtown Bendonville which led to heavy investment in town by settlers. By 1924 there were over 100 businesses registered with town government including grocery stores, hardware stores/depot etcetera along Main Street where automobiles could be bought or leased outright or through car rentals companies like Stagecoach Lines etcetera. And by 1929 there were over 500 residents living within walking distance of downtown core while telephone service had been installed throughout town providing residents with easy access to information about their communities across state lines however few people actually lived here anymore due to changing technology trends away from coal mining & other traditional industries towards petroleum production & other forms of energy consumption making this once vibrant community into an ghost town overnight

The town was named after General Benton, a U.S. military general who fought in the Mexican-American War and the American Civil War. The population of Bentonville grew rapidly during its early years, and by 1838 it had reached 1,500 residents. In 1841, the United States Congress passed an act annexing Arkansas to the Union, and Bentonville quickly became one of the leading towns in Arkansas. In 1861, when Confederate forces invaded Arkansas, Bentonville sent volunteers to fight for the Confederacy. Afterward, many of Bentonville's businesses closed down or relocated to other states; however, some original entrepreneurs continued to operatebentontvilletOWNeVELopmentuntiltheendofthe20th century.
