Benton, Arkansas is a small town in Little Rock County, Arkansas, United States. The population was 1,711 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Little Rock County. Benton is located on the Arkansas River and according to the 2010 census has a total area of 0.5 square miles (1 km²). Benton was founded in 1847 by John Benton and his brother James as a post office called "Fayetteville". A store and hotel were built there in 1853. The first school was built there in 1855. The current courthouse was completed in 1907. In 1865, Benton became the site of what would become one of America's first oil refineries when an oil well was discovered there by Henson Giddings and others working for Samuel Andrews Oil Company. benton Refinery LLC continues production today at its current location on Highway 9 near mile marker 251 (). As early as 1902, a Methodist church had been organized in Benton with pastor Aiken Clay officiating at services from then until his death in 1955; Rev J F Wilkinson preached from that building until that year's dedication ceremonies which took place inside the new courthouse also known as "The Clay House" (). In 1923, Methodists abandoned their original church building due to financial difficulties; it burned down about two years later () . In 1951-1952, local builder/contractor Ernest Hickey designed and constructed what is now known as "The Ambassador Hotel", one of only three such structures ever erected within Little Rock County limits (). He also designed/ constructed much of downtown Benton including many homes currently standing today (), along with several business blocks adjoining State Street between First Avenue and Academy Boulevard (). That same year saw the opening of Stroud Elementary School (), which served students grades PK-8 through 12th grade ();the elementary school replaced an earlier structure which had been destroyed by fireabout two years earlier (). After serving students through high school into college age (), Stroud Elementary closed in 1978 but reopened again as part of a larger centralized education program initiated by Mayor Belle Payne () after approval from then Governor Orval Faubus (). Today's Stroud Middle School serves grades 9-12th grade(). Afternoon classes were offered at both schools during those days before kindergarten moved to nearby Columbine Elementary School starting in 1954.) Following passage of Amendment No 2 to the Constitution OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA on November 6th , 1965 - PROHIBITED PUBLIC SCHOOLS IN THE COUNTY OF LITTLE ROCK - all public schools were closed within Little Rock County effective December 15th following court order arrived via telegram from Pulaski Circuit Court Judge Wm White ; daycare facilities operated out-of-town locations A new high school opened its doors for enrollment on September 14th 1966 named after Mrs Mrs Ethel Ford (later elevated to Ms) who financed & started Construction $500K project—this new high school would eventually be renamed Central High School after her husband Mr Ford’s death less than 2 years later on July 25th 1969.—There are still some vestiges left around town today like this old white picket fence that surrounds property where Central High used to stand (& more evidence can be seen right next door at Old Hickory Auctioneers)

There are several different types of mounts available today, each with its own advantages and disadvantages. The first type of mount was called a periscope mount. This type of mount allowed you to place your rifle in any position that you desired by adjusting the wide angle eyepiece (or objectives) on top of the mount. However, these mounts were very unstable and could not be used in extreme environments such as indoor ranges or outdoors where wind could gusts dangerous distances. The second type of mount was called an open-air mounting system. This type allowed you to place your rifle in any position that you desired by adjusting one or more adjustable turrets on either side of your firearm. These mounts were much more stable than periscopes and could be used in all weather conditions including indoor ranges and outdoors where wind could gusts dangerous distances. Unfortunately, open-air mounting systems were not commonly used because they required too much space inside someone's home for their rifle to be mounted securely without taking up valuable counter space. In 1937, Liebert & Co., a manufacturer of scope Mounts began development of what would become known as "scope rings." These rings consisted of two pieces - a male unscrewed from the objective lens itself and a female unscrewed from the base housing which connected both pieces together creating an adjustable ring assembly allowing for limitless adjustments between zeroing in on your target and sighting it downrange! These innovative scope rings became popular among shooters throughout WWII because they allowed anyone with access to fine tuning their rifles without having to purchase or build their own custom scopemounts! After WWII ended, many shooters forgot about Scope Rings until they started seeing them again duringRAMbo movies when John Lennon sang "I want To Hold Your Hand" with his song "How Do You Want Me To Be?"

Benton is a small town in Pulaski County, Arkansas, United States. It was founded in 1871 by settlers from Kentucky and Tennessee. The population was 1,521 at the 2010 census. The first settler in Benton was John Latham who arrived in 1871. He built a cabin on the site of what is now the town square. In 1875, Benton was platted and named after Senator James K. Polk of Tennessee. The first post office was established in Benton on May 2, 1876 by Wm. Moulton and Hyrum Ayer. In 1895, Benton became the county seat of Pulaski County when it was created from parts of Johnson County. The first courthouse for Pulaski County was erected in Benton in 1901 by Jens Duhring and Andrew Prentice Jr.. It served until 1907 when it burned down due to a fire that started near the courthouse building.. In 1907, an addition to the original courthouse were constructed which served as the jail until 1928 when it closed due to lack of space. In 1916, Benton incorporated as a village with a population of 375 people.. In 1929, following passage of the National Prohibition Act (1924), all Village corporations were dissolved and their assets were passed along to individual municipalities within Pulaski County.. On July 15th 1947 – just shy of 100 years since its incorporation into Pulaski County – Benton celebrated its centennial with a special celebration including train rides through downtown Benton and visits from state legislators including then-Governor Orval Faubus III., Senators Birch Bayh and Joe Biden., Mayor Fayette Dixon., School Board Member Willis Gentry., Chief Justice Earl Warren (of US Supreme Court) presiding over “A Hundred Years Ago” dinner at Masonic Lodge #4 where refreshments were provided by Mrs Harry Truman.). On November 6th 2017 residents voted 3-1 to annex neighboring towns Carthage and Pine Bluff into Benton proper making it formally one entity with 1,521 residents!
