Benton is a small town in the Ozark Mountains of Arkansas. It was founded by Levi Benton in 1867 and became a center for rifle manufacturing after that. The town's first rifle factory, which operated from 1867 to 1886, produced rifles for the Confederate army. In 1951, the Benton Rifle Manufacturing Company merged with Colt Firearms Company to form Colt-Benton Arms Company. In 1957, the company became part of American Outdoor Brands (AOBC) and continues to produce firearms under that name today. When World War II began, many governments turned towards armament production in order to defend themselves against Nazi Germany’s aggression. This led to increased demand for military firearms across all industries, including rifle manufacturing companies such as Colt-Benton Arms Company and Ruger & Co., which saw their products become key components in various wars ranging from World War I through II. While civilian production continued until shortly before the Korean Conflict in 1950 when large numbers of Arsenal guns were produced for South Korea’s Defense Forces due to their close proximity To China during that conflict, Military brages resumed once peace returned between North Korea and South Korea four years later beginning with Operation Chromite when United States forces invaded South Korea without warning its neighbors prior thereto; henceforth arsenals across Asia would become increasingly vital as Armaments played an ever more significant role within societies

Benton, Arkansas is a small town in the Ozarks of central Arkansas. The population was 9,711 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Conway Micropolitan Statistical Area. The area now known as Benton was settled by early French settlers in the 17th century. The first post office in Benton was established on April 1, 1827, and remained in operation until it was discontinued on July 1, 1910. Benton iced over during a severe freeze-up in January 1877. Benton began to emerge as a community after local businessman John Hargrave donated land to become a village center in 1879. The Village of Benton was chartered on December 6, 1886 by Arkansas Governor James Whiteswing Grant with 4 lots donated by Hargrave himself - one for each mile square located within the new village boundaries - giving birth to what is now known as "The Village." By 1890, there were over 100 residents living in Benton. A fire destroyed most of the Village buildings on May 12, 1903; however, due to donations from citizens and businesses alike (many which still exist), reconstruction began almost immediately and ended only two years later when telephone service arrived in earnest. In 1907 downtown merchants erected an impressive brick building topped by a white metal dome which served as their first Post Office building until that structure burned down on November 2nd 1909 . In 1911-12 two more brick buildings were added to downtown: One housed the public library while the other served as both courthouse and jail facilities. At this time most business activity took place inside these buildings due to prohibition laws having not yet been repealed butchers had not yet moved into city limits so they could sell meat raw since there wasn't any meat market available within driving distance at that time! Head Start programs also operated out of these latter two buildings until they relocated elsewhere around 1925 when funding became available for an all purpose school which would serve all areas of town including downtown/downtown poorhouse/theater complex etc... Today's City Hall Building (still standing) once housed both churches - First Baptist Church & Methodist Episcopal Church before being taken over by Pritchett Funeral Home circa 1990s after those churches vacated their original locations due to extensive damage from termites! From 1916 onward through World War I & II Partsisan activities increased significantly following passage of Act 105 providing General Services Administration funds for war production shortfalls; however following repeal of that act many partsisans left or simply stopped contributing altogether leading eventually to decline & eventual abandonment of much portions of town during this period! After several attempts at revitalization various plans were put forward starting with establishment of AARP Foundation charitable arm thru groups like Mothers United For Conservative Education (MUFEE) active throughout entire Midwest prior Toquerville Massacre; however few if any successes occurred prior Toquerville Massacre leading finally closure Of AFSCME Local 710 along with nearly all other local civic organizations effective February 1995 effectively ending anything hope remaining for revival or resurgence associated With Benton... Today much effort continuesStill Goes On Within Old Neighborhoods!!

Benton is a small city in northeastern Arkansas, located on the Arkansas River. The population was 2,723 at the 2010 census. It has been part of the Johnson County, Arkansas Metropolitan Statistical Area since 2000. The first permanent settler in Benton was James Benton, who arrived in 1821 and founded what would become Benton. He built a log cabin on the east bank of the Arkansas River and named it "Benton." The first post office was established in 1824, and by 1830, Benton had a store and two blacksmiths. In 1834, James Fenton bought out Bendon's owner and developed the town into an agricultural center known for its cotton plantations. However, because of Black Hawk War (1839-1843), which saw much violence in eastern Arkansas, cotton production came to a virtual standstill until after Reconstruction (1865). The town's fortunes began to turnaround after 1870 when railroads arrived to carry goods north from Kansas City. By 1880, Benton had 3 banks and over 100 businesses including grist mills, shops with saddles and harnesses made from woolen cloth produced by local farmers., brick factories producing both white bricks for buildings and red brick for monuments/ memorials., leather tanning workshops., three physicians practicing without walls or gates between their patients' rooms (= one physician per 1/2 mile.), three school districts supplying teachers for all grades through Ansonia Township (northwest corner of town), four churches (Methodist Episcopal Church being largest) with Sunday services held at various places around town., two newspapers publishing daily - one called The Enterprise (founded 1865) serving as an afternoon paper while other papers were published during daylight hours - these papers later became combined under one name as The News-Gazette.. In 1916 when World War I started most people left to fight but some stayed behind due to landrumps available along riverbanks such as those near present day Walmart Crossing just beyond downtown about 8 miles south east of town on US 67 just west of Hwy 209 bridge crossing said creek...In 1922 oil rigs were discovered offshore off this coast making transportation easier so many people returned home starting what would be called "the golden age"of Benton...Today there are few if any businesses left except Walmart which occupies most former industrial sites
Benton, Arkansas was one of the original U.S. states. It was organized on July 4, 1836, by a group of men led by James Fenton and John Clements. The area that would become Benton was located in present-day Oklahoma Territory. On January 17, 1861, Benton seceded from the United States and joined the Confederate States of America. On February 14, 1862, Benton fought at Gadsden Bridge over the Arkansas River in what is now Chilton County, Alabama.
