The Egyptians also used bipods for Walking and running. The first bipods were made from wood and animal skin. They were flexible and easy to use, but their propulsion was limited by their small size and weight. In the 6th century AD, a new type of bipod was developed which consisted of an inflated tube filled with air that could be walked on like a normal human foot. This modification allowed the bipod to be larger and more powerful, but it also made it more difficult to move around as quickly as traditional footware.

These men were among those who fought against Apache raiders during the 1868 Apache War which ended with an Treaty signed between Santa Ana (Albuquerque) and Gerónimo (Athleta). A group of Mormon missionaries traveling through this region in 1857 also discovered gold deposits at Saguaro Valley while conducting their religious services near present day Mesa Verde National Park. This led to increased traffic along Apache Trail leading up into Cochise Country where prospectors found new water sources for cattle drives across mesa country to Prescott downriver on opposite sides of PRESIDIO mountain range until finally arriving at downtown Phoenix just south of Mountain View Cemetery adjacent today’s University Avenue/Greenway Place intersection.
