However, pistols could still be carried openly in public areas. The following year, Tempe Rifle and Pistol Club organized a football game against Scottsdale High School which was played atTempe Municipal Stadium. This event is considered to be the first football game played in Tempe. In 1916, the City Council voted to allow handgun ownership by individuals without having to obtain a license from the city police department. This decision paved the way for gun ownership by civilians in Tempe become legal. Gunownership began to grow slowly at first but soon exploded with increased crime rates in Phoenix and Tucson during World War I. As violence decreased throughout World War II, gun ownership grew rapidly again among civilians throughout Arizona and Nevada due to fears of another world war between America and Germany or Japan respectively- bothof which were potential enemies of America at that time! Gun owners continued to increase through times of peace until passage of state constitutional amendments allowing open carry beginning January 1st 1968 . With these new changes came stricter regulation from government officials who saw guns as an important part of society rather than something that should only be kept outof Reach Of Children or Criminals! Todayadays, gun owners are numerous throughout Arizona thanks largely to efforts by organizations like NRA who advocate for Second Amendment rights!

The first pistols were fired at the range on November 8th, 1907. In 1912, the Tempe Rifle & Pistol Club became an armory and produced their own magazine to shoot ammunition for their handguns. In 1915, membership dues increased from 5 to 10 dollars per year. “What we now call “target shooting” really began here in Tempe when our members of the Rifle and Pistol Clubs got together to fire shots at pigeons that had been placed near some of our rifle ranges... The 1920s were a time of great change for Tempe as well –zoners began moving into the city while businesses closed their doors due to prohibitionism laws passed by Congress at that time. One such important event was when Al Capone appeared in town under assumed name Harry Greenbaum after getting out of prison on parole – he openly sold alcohol within sight of law enforcement officers until he was finally caught in 1931. This led to increased law enforcement activity throughout the city which made life more difficult for criminals living among us today! The late 1800s also saw some major changes within the LDS church with tempers beginning to fray over disagreements about polygamy (polygamy wasn't illegal then). Eventually this tension boiled over into open warfare between LDS congregants living in different neighborhoods around town – known locally as "the wars". After many skirmishes between Latter Day Saints and non-LDS Residents alike, temple ordinances were performed solemnly at Brigham Young University without any further Harmonization efforts being made until 1978! Throughout these years there have been occasional attempts by outsiders (usually drawn from outside Valley communities) to start their own version of social turmoil here dubbed "theTempe Nights" where rowdy behavior erupts during specific nights or events taking place within our community calendar that are generally dismissed by most residents simply due to their notoriety rather than anything substantive happening; however weltanschauung disguised as democracy often does not survive beyond 4th October fireworks related revelry each year
