The Show Low Pistol and Rifle Club was organized in 1899. The first meeting was held at the home of W.H. Dixon. The club has been in operation continuously since then with only a few changes in membership or location. In 1907, the club moved to its present site on White Sands Boulevard near Valley Rd., just east of I-10. On September 16, 1923, the club bleached their blueprints and changed their name to the Arizona Shooting Sports Foundation Society Incorporated. They were incorporated again on January 1, 1934 as the Arizona Shooting Sports Foundation Society (ASFS). In 1975, ASFS adopted a resolution designating Saturday night as NRA's National Firearms Museum Night; this event is still celebrated annually by the society on that date. With over 100 years of history behind it, ASFS is one of America’s oldest shooting organizations and continues to play an important role in firearm education and north-south cooperation through its various firearms programs including muzzleloading competitions and NRA hunter safety courses for kids

In the early 1900s, Show Low was a small agricultural town in Arizona. It was known for its cattle and sheep pastures, as well as its gunsmithing businesses. One of the shops in town was called the Gun Shop. The Gun Shop sold guns and ammunition, among other items. In 1911, J.D. Schieffer opened a store called the Shooting Gallery in Show Low. At first, it only sold firearms and ammunition to people in Show Low or surrounding towns. But soon, J.D.'s shop became famous for selling guns to people all over the state ofArizona! The Gun Shop continued to be a popular resource for shooters throughout the years until it closed in 1948. Today, there is still a portion of the building that remains open as an ammo store!
Show Low is a small, rural town in the Apache Hills region of central Arizona. The population was 1,052 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Mohave County seat of Mohave. The first people to settle in what is now Show Low were Mormon missionaries who came from Utah in 1879. They built a small community on the east side of Coyote Creek and named it after their leader, Brigham Young. In 1901, the United States Post Office opened in Show Low and soon became known as a trading post for cattle and Navajo Indians in that area. In 1912, Mexico ceded much of northern Arizona to America following World War I; however, Arizona's eastern border remained unchanged by this event. In 1928, Congress passed an act providing for statehood for Indian reservations lying within present-day Mohave County; however, due to strong local opposition to federal recognition of such institutions among some residents, the Act was not fully implemented until 1935. By 1960, ownership of most land within modern-day Show Low had reverted back to the Navajo Nation; however, there are still pockets where ranching and farming continue operation today due to their importance as agricultural production sites for surrounding counties during times when hunting and fishing are also major activities. During 1994–1995 Mesa Verde National Park suffered significant damage from a series of wildfires which burned over 4 square miles (10 km2) near its southern edge; although no structures or homes were lost or damaged as a result of these fires,[1] they did cause $5 million worth of damage to property adjacent to national park boundaries[2] which remains an issue today affecting fire suppression efforts across many parts of Arizona including Show Low

TheShow Low Museum of Art is located in Show Low, Arizona and preserves the history of this small town. The museum was founded in 1984 by art dealer, Adolph Ziegler. It was originally called the Western Apache Museum and has since grown to include a collection of American Indian art. The museum is open to the public on Friday and Saturday from 9am-5pm, and on Sundays from 10am-3pm. Admission is free for all visitors. There are also occasional special exhibitions that are open to members only or with an additional fee. The museum features rotating exhibits as well as temporary displays of art from around the world. One of the most popular aspects of visiting TheShow Low Museum of Art is its genealogy exhibit which tells the story of Show Low’s Hispanic community through displays of artifacts dating back to 1842. This area had a sizable Mexican population until about 1912 when all Mexican citizens were deported due to railroad construction across Arizona. There are also several galleries throughout the building where visitors can view local artwork, books about Show Low history, or browse through online catalogues made available online at www.showlowmuseumofart.org/.
On a high bluff overlooking the town of Show Low, Arizona, is the 9-foot-tall "ghost" of Spanish Governor Manuel García de la Cruz. The statue was dedicated in 1912 to commemorate his memory.
