The town of Show Low, Arizona is located in the east-central part of the state of Arizona. The population was estimated to be around 25,000 as of 2010. It is a small community that has been around since the early 1900s. During that time, it was a center for cattle and horse herds and also served as a stop on the stagecoach route. In recent years, Show Low has become an important manufacturing and commercial center for components and equipment used by the defense industry. One of the first things that happened in Show Low was the opening of what is now known as The National Defense Company Store. This store was established in 1915 by Colonel George Armstrong Custer and his wife Marie Custer. The store became one of the most important commercial centers in Show Low because it offered a wide variety of products related to military production. It also played an important role in helping to create relationships between local manufacturers and suppliers from all over America. In later years, other businesses opened up in addition to The National Defense Company Store. One such business was The First National Bank which opened its doors in 1916. From then until 1978, The First National Bank was one of two banks operating within walking distance of each other in downtown ShowLow. This bank played an important role during World War II because it helped connect producers with suppliers across America who needed materials for their war efforts. Later on, other businesses came into existence which served different needs within downtown ShowLow including Gold Star Camera & Video (in 1978), American Can Co (in 1984), and Best Western Plus Inn (in 2002). Each company had its own unique strengths which helped them grow and prosper over time. However, one thing remained constant throughout these changes: downtown ShowLow always had a presence thanks to its vibrant shopping district called Main Street which featured many popular stores including Sears, JCPenney, Macy’s, Kmart, etc.).

Show Low is an Arizona town, located in Pinal County, about twenty miles north of Tucson. The name "Show Low" comes from the Spanish word "signal," meaning a warning or instruction. When Spain Mexicanize the area in 1847, they changed the name to San Pedro Valley because it was thought that only Spaniards would live there and not Mexicans. The first permanent settler in what is now Show Low was José María Escobar who built his adobe trading post on a small stream called Ocotillo Creek in 1848. He named his post after the valley which he saw from his window atescalado (a high peak in the Santa Rita Mountains). Much later, Manuel de la Garza moved into what is now Show Low and founded a rancho (a ranch) here in 1876. In 1886, George Wickersham bought land around what is now Main Street from Escobar for $2,500. Wickersham named this square mile "Wickersham Heights". In 1902-3, he platted and subdivided much of present-day Pinal County into townships so that developers could build more homes without having to worry about meeting local resistance or village vetoes. In 1926, Congress passed the Indian Reorganization Act which gave certain Native American tribes certain rights within their own territories including some land near Show Low. The town of Show Low quickly became home to many Navajo people who were displaced by General Victoriano Huerta's Mexican Army during the 1928 Revolution when Huerta took over ownership of most of Arizona. After World War II ended with Japan's surrender, many Japanese Americans were deported back to Japan including several residents of ShowLowAJ . These individuals had no choice but to leave behind their homes and belongings; however some personal effects such as furniture and dishes were left behind until recently when they were auctioned off off by an organization called Friends of Japanese American Cultural Properties . The Post Office at 9 N Main St was established on October 3rd 1904 by Mrs John H Veeder with assistance from her daughter Anna Brouwer Dodge who also helped organize Ladies Aid Societies for minority women across America . It served as both a general store and post office until 1978 when it closed due to budget cuts within the Post Office Department . On November 8th 1978 , Mayor Tom Tingle dedicated new streetlights south of town between US Route 66 & I-10 along side SR 527 following yearslong efforts by citizens banding together to improve infrastructure near major intersections throughout central Phoenix
In the early 1800s, Show Low was a small town in Apache County, Arizona. The town was located on the northeast corner of what is now Tucson and FBI Road 2. It was founded by Mormon pioneers in 1847. When gold was discovered in nearby Apache County, the Mormons moved to that area and built a new settlement called Mesa Verde. The original town site is now part of downtown Tucson.
